Here's my progress so far!
I went with a slightly different approach where the positive wires will connect to a micro controller, which is connected to the vehicle ground. Therefore I only need two wires, one for each button. I checked the pins in the car and discovered that there are two ground pins, one for the LEDs on the board and one for the buttons as per the following image: ![]() After this I then desoldered the board to check available space underneath the PCB: ![]() Proceeded with the milling/drilling with a dremel to make room for my new wires (not the cleanest work, but it wont be visible): ![]() then I soldered the wires onto the PCB: ![]() ![]() I then routed the wires through the small square hole and resoldered the PCB onto the pins of the plastic casing: ![]() The next step is remaking the previously mentioned 3D-printed part that pushes on the small iron rods! This will all connect to a camera switching module with an Arduino that switches between the rearview camera and a nose camera! Last edited by dxcufgb; 06-06-2021 at 06:14 PM. I know this is a pretty old thread but I have recently installed Air suspension on my manual 2018 BRZ. I saw the video of someone using this thread as an idea board to use the center buttons for his active exhaust momentary switch. I thought that would be cool, and I could use the otherside toggle to activate and use my electronic air tank dump for my Air suspension tank. So I ordered the blacked out Automatic mode select buttons, thinking that I could just buy some of the female pin connectors and slide them in the harness to use with the extra wiring i was going to do for the "mode" toggle. However I cant seem to get the buttons to do anything, they will not activate my tank drain. Then I looked through the thread and it sounds like there is more that just sliding in the female pin conectors with it hooked up to my tank drain's power line. Can anyone help on how I can get this activated to be working with my tank drain and eventually my active exhaust I will install?
