Paddock pass? That's really cool. I hear they really stepped up the "Sonoma lifestyle". When they changed the name. Probably get some good food and wine.....$$$$$$$$$$

I drove Laguna Seca several times in the '80s before it was extended in I think '89. They made it longer to meet regs for certain race groups.

Here is maps of old and new. Back then there was nothing around the track. Now you see the mansions on the hills, and the sound regs. Money talks I guess. Like buying a house next to The airport then complaining about planes.

Which is completely asinine to me. I'm from Tulsa, and back in the 2000's the city spent millions on sound abatement for people's homes next to the airport.

Like, you didn't think it would be noisy next to a big airport that is also home to an F-16 Fighter wing of the OK National Guard?

We have a pretty big air force base here in OKC, but we are on the opposite side of town so we rarely see the fighters out doing exercises and stuff. But it's freaking cool when they occasionally do those low-altitude rips around the outside of the city.

Mosport has gone through the same thing. When I was last involved there they had a curfew of 5:00 p.m. for all vehicles with none street legal exhausts. Mosport can apply to obtain an exception for special events. However, I understand that has now changed to an actual decibel limit which means more hoops to jump through for none racing activities like music concerts. Although management stated the closing of the ½ mile oval in 2013 was due to enlarging the Driver Development Track everyone knew that it was more to do with local council’s decision to not renew Mosport’s Saturday night racing exception.
We live 20 minutes from CFB Trenton, Canada’ busiest Air Force base. We are constantly entertained by all the air craft that fly low overhead. Mostly C130 Hercules crews doing training runs. I understand that CFB Trenton trains most of the Herc crews for NATO countries. Search and Rescue have even practised a water rescue just downstream of our home.

Seats were good and I was where a lot of the action happened. I got up and walked around quite a bit but most of the passes were in my section. Few crashes as well. Overall would do again. Also Loud.

Turn 7 can and almost always is calamity corner lol

Also the Next Gen cars exhaust sounds different and is also louder than the previous car.

SVG sure did put on a clinic though. I was not there, but would have LOVED to have been. Watched from the couch lol

Yeah he was just on another level. I was surprised he pitted before the first stage was over but looked like they were playing the long game on strategy. You can really tell the way he gets into the brakes and rolls through the corner is a lot quicker.

No they run the outer loop. They don’t run the infield section.

Seems lots more people are gone. I'm so sad.

For those who still come by, thanks.
