Ok, actually starting to not have fun with the game. I've spent the last week trying to place in the Porsche cup on the ring. Every setup I have tried with a GT3 staying under pp650 sucks, every tire option sucks because you start dry, then rains, then dry, cars take me out constantly. Several times I've been having my best run then spin for no apparent reason, or I come up to cars spun out blocking the track, or get hit. My best finishes are 4th about 9 seconds out. I've tweaked the car so many times I don't know how to get it back to the best setup I've had, if I could even remember....

I think I have to take a break from it. Very frustrated...

Heh, maybe practice cutting that 2nd to last turn. I've never done it on purpose but have definitely had times when I got squirrelly and just let it go into there, and it seemed to work out a little too well

I have to say though, this is a much better outcome than the usual:

try it > this is neat > can't find time for it/indifferent > sim rig collects dust until you sell it

Are you using a 997 GT3 road car?

The only spot on that track you can cut for a significant advantage seems to be at the very top of the hill where you just go straight and it's bumpy but paved (+2 secs). All the grass corners are high risk low reward. You might gain like .1 seconds but at a 60% chance of losing it. Although maybe if I practice turning in early on that last chicane to where it's a striaght line cutting both corners (maybe that's what you meant anyway) LMAO it's so sad plotting on how and where to cheat but I don't think you can win otherwise since the latest update.

I can get up to 2nd on the first lap with a perfect start using the Ford GT which sucks in the turns but has good straight speed (under the BoP tuning). I hit 4th hy the top of the hill and pass 2nd and 3rd cars by cheating at the top of the hill. Maybe if like wreck the leader I can hold everyone off but at 1 power setting I will have to pit once..

No, the 996 GT3 I won. I also won a 993, but no matter how I turned it under 650, I was no where near as fast as the 996 GT3.

Won the last Porsche challenge on Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps to win my third 911. The 997 gt3 is awesome.

Now my menu is Supras......

You have me amped up to run this tonight haha. Are there AI that do not pit in this one?

I think if I approach it with the understanding that I might have to lose 2 or 3 times before I figure out the strategy, it will be more of a good time. It's tough though because if you exit to get a different car, opponents and weather will differ.

Honestly I'm not even sure if the weather stays consistent within a given session. Like if you keep restarting within the race, will the exact same weather patterns occur each time? If you exit to menu to tune, and then restart? If you finish the race, and then select "try again"? I feel like I've seen everything change up - weather, starting grid order etc when doing try again.

Who the heck was out at 23 sec?! I always thought it strange that the 911 GT1 road car never seems to be a contender in any of those races

I think they all pit at least once. The weather does change per race but usually is similar. Like desert tracks will stay dry, races where it rains partially will still rain partially but the lap it starts on my vary. Occasionally you can get lucky and it doesn't rain at all. This race it doesn't seem to rain anyway though even though it's every other race in this series.

I just did the Panorama race in the ‘20 AMG GT and honestly it was a blast. The main competition was a Huracan. Had to make some uncouth passes to get to 3rd, as first and 2nd were walking away while I dealt with traffic. Made a clean pass on the downhill for the lead on lap 5 or so. He pitted on 6 with me and we came out w/same gap as we went in. He was faster than me everywhere except across the top of and down the hill, so the gap yo-yo'd between 1 and 3 seconds the whole time to the end! No room for error haha

Definitely not! I finally just beat it now with the Playstation BMW Got out front in the first two laps and pushed anyone who tried to pass me off the corner lol. Pitted lap 7 just fuel and managed to be in the lead with both out lap and on track cars in two lines right behind me! At that point though I don't think anyone had tires because I was able to stay ahead without being dirty (aside from cutting that one corner at the very top). Have 100% now in the event directory. Not even a trophy for that.. I already have most of the trophies though just have to do the circuit experiences and go like 600 km/h, you know, some of the more obscure ones.

Nice! Crazy there is no 100% trophy! Yeah for this one I think all were forced to RH tires right? I was definitely feeling it on those last two laps, trying not to look at the little tire icons haha

Can't recall if you said you did AC EVO as well, but there's a big update today. Donington and CotA, plus 7 cars, many of which are quite interesting.

Nice! And yeah RH only (well or IW, W but it doesn't rain in this race that I've seen).
