If you were waiting on a Hakone for a year and never got one I would hope you would get dibs on their Yuzu, if they get one. The 860 total thing is tough, considering ~1300 dealerships.

If you really want one you may have to go looking

Yep, plus even fewer in manual.

I had to put 1k deposit at that dealership. Putting deposit at multiple places would have few thousands tied in waiting for a car that still might not arrive.

That was 2022 for me. By March I had deposits at minimum 3 dealers at once ($500 each) until I finally found a car myself in August. I had deposits with 6 different dealers all together across 10 months and none of them came close to getting me what I wanted.

Through May, the story was: everything was automatic. By summer the manuals came, but seemed like Toyota only sent them to the markup dealers. I got nothing good to say about the way Toyota does allocations.

I really wanted the high lighter blue GR, but once I found out you can't just go in and order like Subaru..........I end up just ordering a '23 red BRZ Limited manual.

I went Subaru route in 2022. Ordered my 2023 BRZ in March 2022, got it in September 2022. I was able to use Subaru VIP program and get it for invoice which was 2k under MSRP. I am not too worried about not getting yuzu but really want a yellow car.

In yellow it is simply gorgeous

Yellow is a terrible colour for anything that can't hit the double ton.
Loud and obnoxious without actually backing it up with speed.

Would you say it's like putting a loud obnoxious exhaust on a 4 cylinder?

It's definitely in the same realm.

Nothing wrong with a yellow vehicle and you don’t have to be able to go STUPID fast to put a smile on your face!

Reminds me of the Scion FRS release series 1.0 back in the day.

Subaru has a Purple Edition, and Toyota has this one.

Hey, at least they're trying.

Lol.
