I'm good with the response. The car is a dual duty. Drive to the office 1 day a week and/or when needed. Drive to a friends house every saturday. And then hopefully, burn all the money I've saved driving in imperfect circles as fast as I can. Not chasing any laptime other than my own.
When I traded in my 2020 PerfPack for this tS I was thoroughly impressed with the ride quality but I do want just a hint more communication back. Sort of playing with the idea of these STI springs, steering bushings, and maybe subframe bushings or something. After I add camber I can fix general balance issues by maybe going to a GR rear bar. Who knows. I'm just looking for a solid OEM+ package. The car is currently just a bit too daily-able. If I'm not explaining at least some questionable aspect of my car to a woman, then my car is clearly too boring. |

![]() The JDM pinks are a mild/subtle change and about as OEM+ as you can get (which is the general idea for JDM STI parts). So yeah, give it a shot and see if you like it! Plenty of options if you want something a little more...Clubsport or GT3 or whatever the next level is after that. Our RCE Yellow springs are coming later this summer for 2nd gen and are a step more aggressive than the STI springs, and then of course all the coilover options. And since you mentioned it, you would probably like the Perrin Steering Rack Lockdown, a set of subframe bushing inserts, and the rear diff inserts. We do make a set of subframe inserts and Whiteline has the diff inserts. - Andrew |

That steering lockdown looks easier than bushings. I like the idea of it.
I assume the aim of the STI springs is to maintain factory balance. What was the plan with the yellows? How much drop and any intended change to balance? |

Yeah STI doesn't publish their rates, but are generally about 15% stiffer than stock with the same balance (meaning slightly stiffer rear). Our spring rates are stiffer than that by a good bit at 5 kg/mm (or 280 lbs/in) front and rear. Our drop is 20mm front and 15mm rear, which is still on the milder side compared to most springs but a hair lower than the STI springs and with a forward rake. So yes square rates, so as to be less reliant on bumpstops and a bit more of a stable handling balance. The forward rake has an influence on handling balance too. - Andrew |

Thanks for the info. Now I'm looking at too many things.
Slight departure to another topic. I just realized that with the increased rear track width and the slight bump to rear motion ratio due to a move of the rear lower control arm mounting point for the shock, my plan to reuse the SPC rlca would lower my rear motion ratio, right? Effectively making the rear softer? |

I like and use the Cuscos on my 1st gen. I've added rear track width but still use the "old" lower motion ratio setting. You get a tiny bit more wheel travel in that setting. The difference in stiffness isn't very big either way, it's much less than a 1 kg/mm jump in spring rates for example. - Andrew |

Hi @CSG Mike
I run PFC Z rated brake pads front, OEM rears. For street use and occasional track (2-3 per year). I want to try some dedicated track pads but Id prefer to swap only fronts while keeping the rears for dual use What do you think about using CSG CP for rear dual use? I know brake bias will be different in street vs track. Is that a problem? I still need to decide which front track pads. For street it will probably any ceramic ones. Using Federal 595 rsr tyres, next time will try michelin PSC2 |

For a tire like Federal 595 rsr, do you think is still recommended to use dedicated track pads? I had the impression that the tires fade earlier than my non dedicated track pads. But I'm not experienced at all |

At the track? Yes. Low grip tires will require you to brake more than high grip tires for corners.

can you please elaborate? I meant that my tyres seemed to fade pretty early (2 laps at 2min track), while the pads seemed to last ok, so I wonder if I can make profit of track pads in my current setup. thx!
