Discovered one of the downsides of driving an EV around town as your DD today. I almost ran out fuel. Not in my LYRIQ but in my Suburban. Since the LYRIQ is always "full" when I get in it, I've gotten out of the habit of checking the gas gauge when I start the car, which has always been part of my "preflight checklist" since I was a teenager.

Drove the Suburban today for a quick trip to drop some stuff off at the local charity shop and ended up with the chimes going off for low fuel after about 5 minutes of driving.

I can't remember the last time I actually looked at the gas gauge in the Suburban!

Sounds like you still have teenagers in the house. They always leave the car on empty.

Hah! Sadly, no, it's my own fault. We're empty nesters and I pretty much am the one that drives the Suburban.

I had one at the shop with chimes going off for low oil pressure..expensive

The only car I ever owned that I was constantly running out of gas in was our 1973 Chevy Vega GT. The problem was the fuel gauge was hidden by the GT’s steering wheel. The old adage; “Out of sight, out of mind” bit me many times.
(Yes, ours was a Millionth Vega Edition with the orange carpets.)

Just got home from my 15 days in Texas. Weather sucked. Hot and humid. Good to be home.

Apparently some folks are having trouble loading the website. It loads for me if I used my phone, or work computer. Else it just opens a white screen.

Yes. Someone's playing silly buggers with the CSS.
Seems they only test what it looks like with Internet Explorer.

Nope sorry, FT86 on Internet Explorer is just as whacked for me as on Firefox, maybe worse due to colours.
