Just to follow up. The company owner did quickly reach out to my son and gave him the option for a replacement or refund. My kid opted for a refund. They sent a prepaid shipping label. At this point I have the OEM STi short shifter that I will be installing when I get my hands on the car next. I know it's not nearly as much as an improvement but at this point it's the best option IMHO. I did reach out to Kartboy. Showed him the pics and he said maybe he should start making them. I wish he would.

Back in my day, this was considered a short shifter. Hurst's motto was something like: Shift as hard as you want but don't break your hand.

Growing up with Hurst shifters make my stock FRS shifter seem incredibility short already. Don't even get me started on the throw of shifter that was in the 4 speed Jeep pick up that I used to have.

My 1969 Chevelle SS came with a Hurst shifter. The original owner added the Hurst “T” handle. It was a long throw compared to a Corvette but very crisp in contrast to the GM unit that came in my 1975 Nova.
