I purchased a driving station. Comes with seat. Someone told me PlayStation does not support 3 monitors.
Trying to find info about driving stations and components has been a challenge. Any thoughts? My ideal station could be switched between PlayStation and pc. I know nothing. Please advise. I have till 4/10 to return if I made a mistake. |

Correct, PS5 does not support multiple monitors. Is that a must? If so, you are looking at PC only.
I'm sure that rig can mount a single curved monitor, for example. PS5 also doesn't support ultra-wide monitor resolutions, but you could adjust the display area to fit it, and then the PC can fill it out no problem. Just to add things for perspective, the rig you bought will most likely be the cheapest part of the system by a long way Curved wide monitor or multiple monitors: $1000+ PS5: $400? Decent wheel: $500 minimum PC: $1500 So easily $3000 to $4000 to go |

I already started typing this before I saw @fredzy's response so I'll leave it anyway....
PS5 only supports 16:9 format up to 3840x2160 (4K resolution). It technically can do 8K but Sony has it firmware limited on display. Some games render in 8K then they get downscaled to 4K. You could build the setup for PC with three monitors, or widescreen and still use it for PS5. On a 3-screen format, hook the PS5 to an output on the middle monitor, or use a HDMI switch to switch it on the same input. For a single widescreen monitor (say a 49" Dual QHD with 5120x1440 like I use for gaming) the monitor should adjust to the PS5 display with letterboxing, so that PS5 shows in the middle of the screen. Personally, if I was going to build this, I'd go with the three matched (same brand/number) monitors with the narrowest bezels I could find. The price will be similar to the single widescreen monitor and it will just be easier to deal with going back and forth. I used the 3-monitor setup for quite some time for flightsim and gaming in general. These were older 27inch monitors with a wider bezel. I'm planning to build a new flightsim setup and when I do I'll likely use three monitors again, augmented on occasion with VR. Here's a photo of the old setup. I'd go with larger monitors in a dedicated setup.

Thanks @Dadhawk and @fredzy.
I got a single curved monitor (coming today, waiting patiently) and Logitech wheel, pedals, and shifter combo. Going only PS5 at this point. I've purchased everything but the console and game. The station is quite sturdy and well built. The seat is nice, and adjustable. The three monitor stand was easy to convert to 1. Just took off the wings. All in all with just ps I'm in at a hair less than $1500. |

I have an 85" TV which isn't curved, but if you sit close enough it feels like you are moving anyway. Still prefer the VR experience. It's like nothing else to turn your head and look through the apex to turn exit, check for traffic in the blindspot, or just get distracted by helicopters and cliffside views LOL. If you don't like VR though (which many don't they get sick or whatever) the curved monitor should work well. Enjoy! I need to upgrade my cheap Logitech G29..

Man those wheels are expensive. I would really have to love playing for that upgrade.

I'm the type to tip-toe into any new hobbies carefully as to avoid big $$$ waste if it's not my thing. Any more it seems the only people I encounter are the opposite. I don't think less of them or anything, I just assume they have a lot more money than me ![]() As for the G29, my first wheel was a DFGT which is similar tech but feels like a toy in comparison. Then I upgraded to G27 which shares the same internal tech as G29, just doesn't have the nice controls layout. It's a solid wheel that makes life easy, especially on a console. The drawbacks you'll have with it are it's noisier and not as smooth as a belt driven or of course direct drive wheel. BUT, you won't have any problem with that until you 1. really get into it and 2. try one of those kinds of wheels |

I'm having a good time with it. Played for a couple hours each night. Became way more fun when I figured out how to get manual trans, and turn off assists. I'm still a bit all over the place from time to time, but still won a few cars.
Very fun, and the driving station I got is ROCK solid. |

The G923 is a slight upgrade on the old 920. Lots of force but its noisy. Oh and the brake pedal has progressive springs.
