I was out running errands yesterday and what did I see? THE MACH 5! It went by so fast because... Speed Racer, I barely got a shot. Sounded real nice. Only problem is no numbers on the door. Guess no race coming up.

That Speed Racer is a custom build on a Corvette chassis. There have been a number of one offs as well as at least two people, (companies) who are building them to suit. I've seen ads for C3, C4 and C5 based cars. Do a search and you'd be surprised how many are out there. Some are much better then others. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend to relive your childhood.

No, speed racer was way before hot wheels in '69.

It's racer X's jacket.

Interesting, Lotus badges and it’s LHD! But, is it an original or a clone? And actually the bonnet art work isn’t half bad. There is a Twin Cam Europa that keeps coming up for sale on eBay.com I may have mentioned before. It has a Jim Clark front boot cover that would look better as wall art. The whole car is bit over the top.

Got me curious, so checked our Government's car tax and MOT checker.. it's a February 1965 car, first registered in the UK 2022..

So we (my brother, nephew and I) were at a British car show and Flea Market today. Lots of unusual vehicles for the novice but this one would seem unique in Canada. Funny thing is there are two in the Lotus club with a third now in the country and the owner going through the pain of certification and registration. Hardest part is finding proper front tires 175/55 17 if I remember correctly. (Good tires in many once popular sizes are getting hard to find here.)
