I wouldn't think so.... Might be worth getting the car on some jack stands and jacking up the rear suspension and look/listen for anything strange as you compress and uncompress the shock

Funny enough I've been told by the EU dealer that the've had similiar issue with Clubsports for MX5 and after inspection at KW Germany apparently they got the coilovers back as working properly. Obviously I'll have them checked again but I kind of doubt that I'll find anything suspicious.

My bad - I meant speed bumps. Edited original post already
Honestly I'm not sure what to do with it further on. All suspension component has been checked for proper torque as well coilovers which are set just like manufacturer supplied manual suggested. Car is lowered just 20mm.
It's literally a sound that you can hear while standing near speed bump and car passes through it but in my case it's very clearly hearable inside cabin even with rear seats up. I was just wondering if it's even unusual for KW V3 style coilover.

I haven't heard any weird hissing from my RCE SS-1's that are essentially a KW body.

Did you ever figure out what this was?

Not really. Currently I'm still troubleshooting it with KW dealer and KW themselves. The dealer told me that It's not unusual for Clubsport (they had similiar "issue" with MX5 kit) while KW states that V3 Clubsport should not make noise like that. I'll most likely send them audio and video clips in a month or so when weather gets better in Poland because I'm not driving this car atm. I've had coilovers before and I'm no stranger to "coilover NVH and strange noises" but this is something else. It's a bummer for me because I was really expecting trouble free dual duty coilover set and this super loud strut operation is not acceptable for me at all. If I won't get it solved I moght just move along to other suspension. I'll update on this later on

Does anyone know the shaft diameter for KW V3?

@Racecomp Engineering or @CSG Mike maybe?

Are pillowball front lower control arm bushings worth it? I'm going to freshen up the bushings on the front of my car and was wondering if anyone has any experience with these bushings. I'll be doing a lot of autocross this year which is why I was considering pillow balls.

Have you looked at your class to see if they're allowed?

Double check the rules for your class. If you're in street class, replacing most bushings with anything aftermarket is a no-go. In street touring, you can use different materials like polyurethane, but stock location is required. Generally speaking, even using the bushings that came with something like the SPC rear control arms (a common upgrade) were illegal until just very recently due to the amount of metal vs bushing material. given that, I'd say pillowball are likely not legal for street touring... which bumps you up into the street prepared/modified areas.

Someone double check me though. I never see pillowball bushings on any STX (now DST) build list. If there was any advantage and if they were allowed, people would be running them.

Edit: Here you go...

Suspension bushings may be replaced with bushings of any materials
as long as they fit in the original location. Offset bushings may be
used. This does not authorize a change in type of bushing (e.g., ball
and socket replacing a cylindrical bushing) or use of a bushing with an
angled hole whose direction differs from that of the original bushing.

If the standard bushing accommodated multi-axis motion via compliance
of the component material(s), the replacement bushing may not
be changed to accommodate such motion via a change in bushing type,
for example to a spherical bearing or similar component involving internal
moving parts. Pins or keys may be used to prevent the rotation of
alternate bushings but may serve no other purpose than that of retaining
the bushing in the desired position.

Spherical anything in the front LCA is not legal in most pro-solo classes.

That said, I have those exact bushing in my car now, and the ride was noticeably worse. Also thought I wasn’t worth it, until I took a corner.

The more the you load the front, the better it feels. With sticky tires they really make a difference in feel. Overall grip/performance - not so much.

So uh... what's your go-to option for fixing the chassis threads that the bolts at the front of the rear subframe go up into? >.>

One side is beyond a thread chaser (I tried, and I made it worse). Quite possibly beyond a tap at this point, too. Other side might be re-tappable and I have one on the way to try.

I necro'd the thread about it, but figured I'd ask here to hopefully get some advice from a professional shop.
