Was supposed to see this concert yesterday but I had to work out of state and didn’t land till about the time doors opened. Pit tickets too, my friends said it was awesome.

Phew! Back (alive) from Louder Than Life in Louisville KY. Saw the hockey stick cone and was like fuuuuuuuuuuu... Hope all of our southern friends are doing ok.
Anyway, after many lineup changes and a whole day cancelled (and a mosh pit in the storm shelter?) here's who I saw: (Warning, I know nothing about music, so my notes are very "basic b1tch" lol) DAY 1 -Dead Poet Society: Great show to kick things off, plus a live ass tattooing. Yes, I typed that right (https://youtube.com/shorts/feDm8-HrNj4?feature=shared). Unique vocals, rock/Alt rock. -Finger Eleven: good, if not particularly memorable. Paralyzer still sounds good. -The Warning: This is a band of 3 sisters from Mexico if you've never heard of them. Second time seeing them live, and both shows were great! Rock, sung in English oddly enough. -Fit For A King: Good metal, nothing else standing out in my memory. -Starset: I remember really enjoying this one. Pyro, played their hits, still have Toksik stuck in my head, crowd was pumped. Alt rock with some metal and electronic vibes. -Badflower: Great show. Great music, and even greater delivery/interaction. One of my favorites. Punky Alt Rock, bit o metal -Highly Suspect: Good show surrounded by great shows iirc. -Seether: generically good show. -Halestorm: second time seeing them, always a good show. Girl power rock/metal -The Offspring: Another fantastic one, exactly as quirky as one would expect given the variety of music they put out. -Sum 41: This is why I bought tickets in the first place. Last festival in the US (until the inevitable reunion?) and I've never seen them live. Probably my favorite performance of both times I've been to LTL, helped by proximity to the stage lol. -Five Finger Death Punch: meh, it was alright. Only saw the last quarter of the performance, super happy I saw Sum41 instead -Slipknot (Headliner): Played only pre-1999 songs. Some of these are good, some are just noise IMO. Unfortunately it started raining and my group decided to leave just has they started the good ones. You might say, I 'got **** when they passed out the good stuff'. ![]() ----------------------- DAY 2: -delay -show might be on folks! -got really windy and started blowing stuff over -Sheltered in the convention center. This room was bigger than the parking lots I do autocross in! -DJs in the storm shelter/convention center triggered a mosh pit... -Cancelled ----------------------- DAY 3: (so damn wet...) -Local H: This was very much in theme for the day. 'softer' than the LTL average. Bound for the Floor though... -CKY: It wasn't bad, but wasn't feeling it. -Lilith Czar: this was ok. A bit weird. Edge of Seventeen cover was pretty cool. -Hemorage (exact spelling): Passed by the small back stage getting lunch and heard these guys playing (metal). Did at least one metal cover ("Shots" lol) and some original songs. The music was good, but boy did they also have some fantastic energy. I hope they'll be back on a bigger stage, this gets my surprise of the festival award. -P.O.D: great show. Played the hits and some lesser-known stuff. Great crowd engagement. Nu Metal/rap/still don't really know what to call this lol. -Filter: I apparently know a bunch of Filter songs from way back lol. Am I old enough to feel nostalgic now? "Nice shot" is infectious lol. -Sleeping With Sirens: Apparently people know who they are, never heard any of their songs as I recall. It was good though. -Nothing More: This was one fantastic show. Came out swinging with House on Sand (my personal favorite) and kept going. Made me completely forget I was cold and wet lol. -Skillet: Master class in heavier rock without swearing lol. I think this was my wife's favorite of the day. Really good performance and crowd engagement. -Dropkick Murphys: Just lol. Love me some Celtic punk rock, but this at LTL is an inexplicable thing you just have to see. -Chevelle: I think I went for a walk to try to find a dry place and a warm snack. I was only half successful, got some free popcorn samples. Oh the show? Meh it was ok. -Till Lindemon: This is the side project for the titular lead vocalist for Rammstein. My conclusion is Germans are weird. If you want to see genitalia, this is the show for you. Till's slot was cancelled on day 2, but Falling in Reverse was stuck somewhere due to the hurricane so he filled in. I'm glad I saw how strange this guy is, but it really didn't need to be 2 hours... -Disturbed: Oh yeah, this was fantastic. -Motley Crew (Headliner): We left early into this one... ------------------- DAY 4: mud pits from hell, but at least it wasn't raining -Taproot: apparently they have been around forever but I've never heard of them. Generally good Alt/metal music, nothing particularly memorable except the vocalist started a pit himself lol. -Drowning Pool: A metal classic, watching crowd surfers during "Bodies" was amusing in the most ironic way. -Oxymorrons: Rock/Rap/metal well blended. Wasn't sold on the music at first but it grew on me. Great energy on stage, what stood out to me was the unabashed quirkyness. -Saliva: this was a great show, a couple covers bookended by their own hits with some lesser known songs sprinkled in. Great crowd engagement. Vocalist did a duet with his teen daughter which was pretty cool to see. -Eagles of Death Metal: ... "I'm getting lunch" ... -Poppy: very... Strange. Bounced between metal and electronic, not really into it. -Spiritbox: Girl screamo metal that's been moving up the lineup at LTL for years and always puts on a good show. A few cameos, including Poppy who was way better here than in her own show lol. I haven't listened enough to recognize songs but maybe I should... -Architects: UK metal/Alt band that I've been listening to for a while but apparently few here know about? Great show, another of my favorites. They now think Americans can't make circles or lines lol. Was watching from the next stage over (easy to get closer without dealing with a crowd) and before I realized it I was in a sea of crazy Gojira fans. -Gojira: People went nuts for this one, but I don't really get it. Generic metal IMO. -Staind: This was fun to sing along to, everyone knows these songs. I went up close at the stage next door for this, but also for... -Breaking Benjamin: Another primary reason for going to LTL. Did not disappoint, best show of the day. Only stayed up front for a few songs though, promised my wife I'd be back. ![]() -Judas Priest (or what is left of it?): made for some good napping music lol -Korn (Headliner): Korn is very hit or miss for me. Apparently folks got a bit too rowdy at the front and they stopped the show for a bit. We were all tired and left early.

More importantly than my notes, got this one stuck in my head currently. Probably just update this post with samples of stuff I liked lol.
