That's the only car I would consider (including Boxster with cayman). It's still 3000 pounds, when you spend 100k+ on car, might as well do shorter gearing for about 10k.

I think 981 is good value for money, half the price, a 3.8 instead of 4.0, flash GT3 steering tune and it's golden.

Only plans for mine are to be buried with it. If forced to replace, I'd do so with the most inexpensive EV I could find at the time. Would be a very sad day.

I go through this thought process often as well, and my conclusion is to stick to the Twins as far as I can (with regard to car age and fit for purpose), and then to go into a different segment. This way you're not trying to recreate the same driving experience, but do something new instead.

Still, my BRZ taught me what I enjoy in a car, and especially what are the dealbreakers. For me this is steering feel. For you it might be different. If you focus on just one or two must-haves, and are willing to explore different options, you might find something you'll be happy with as much or more.

And as always, test drive as many cars as you can. Especially if you're in no rush to get a new car.

No Lotus for me, but I'm a fan of the brand and have a semi-serious desire to buy an Elise (and/or maybe an Emira). Lotus Talk is also an interesting forum to follow in general.

I'd go with some of the others already mentioned: Civic Type R, Integra Type S, GR Corolla, GTI, Golf R, or the previous gen M2. I test drove a 2016/2017 and a 2018 competition. I really liked both, though the increased power in the Competition was tempting despite the car being heavier.

As much as I like the Supra or Z idea and I really like my current BRZ, I do miss the practicality found in a larger coupe or hot hatch. Having a bigger trunk opening and usable back seats would be kind of nice.
