New Car Buyer Survey

I assume everyone who's bought a new BRZ will get the same survey email from Subaru that I did. It takes a long time to complete but I hope everyone does it. It sure seems like they're interested in what their buyers have to say so if you want to influence Subaru's future ptoducts this is your best chance.

Its been a while since I got the survey, so don't recall the details. But I did have the impression they were somewhat confused about the BRZ's target demographics.... at least the PR company was. No no no, not granola and Birkenstocks... less electronics and more power please! (And no questions about Oil Pressure or RTV...)

I have dutifully filled out four Subaru surveys in the last ten years and still get them especially from the service department. It seems that every time I spend more than a dollar I get a "How did we do?" survey. I am done with that. Life is too short to be wasting time on a survey about chicken sandwiches and garden hose repair kits. I might consider it if there is a reasonable shot at winning a new car or a no-strings prize, but now more.

I see a difference between a car buyer survey from the manufacturer and a service center survey from the dealer or manufacturer. One may influence future product offerings while the other surely won't.

This was my first time. I presume my response to "what other vehicles do you own" will skew their data a bit...

I don't think I ever got an official survey from/on behalf of Subaru themselves. I did get one from JD Power and another from some other marketing data firm, but no mention of Subaru associated with it. I also got one from JD Power at the one-year point.

I don't mind filling those out because, as mentioned already, I hope my data points might get pilled on to others in an attempt to make the car better. Hopefully enough "your infotainment system sucks" and "the speakers are terrible" comments will catch someone's attention.

I too don't bother with the dealer surveys. I'm rarely satisfied with my experience, and the whole "if it's not a 10 we've failed and please reach out to me" is a farse and a waste of my time.
