Hilux/Toyota 8" Diff Gears

I'm looking to change my final drive to a 4.88 ratio but budget friendly options like Weir aren't readily available here, whereas Hiluxes are everywhere.

Nitro lists their Toyota V6 8" TV6-488-29-NG gears as compatible with the 86 when using the YOKTOYFITKIT-29 spline adaptor and crush sleeve eliminator SKCSTV6 (I'm not sure if this is really necessary or just nice to have). Nitro also isn't easy to get here but Yukon is and has same matching numbers.

Has anyone else been down this road?

Possible ring & pinions:
Yukon YG-TV6-488-29
Also Motive, Trail Gear & USA Standard equivalent Toyota V6 8" 4.88 R&Ps

Kits incl 29spl pinion flange:
Yukon TV6-488K
Drivetech 087-012391K (listed for 4cyl diffs too so may require narrower pinion bearing)

29 Spline flanges only:
Yukon T35040-29-KIT
Drivetech 087-012550 (no nut or seal)

Crush sleeve eliminator:
Yukon SKCSTV6 solid sleeve

That should work, I ordered a similar 3.7 ratio rear end (P/N TV6-373-29-NG) with the 8.125 diameter from Yukon. JustDifferentials.com had the same parts at a little cheaper price. Don't bother ordering their rebuild kit as half of it was useless. Order the OEM replacement seals and timken bearings

Cheers. I did as much research as I could find on compatibility and have ordered the Drivetech gear and pinion flange set, plus Yukon solid sleeve. Cost was 1/4 of the Auto Factory set. I’ll also order all the individual seals and bearings soon except for the front pinion bearing which is the one I suspect will differ.

I’ll update this post when I get it install after the end of the season later this year.

If everything go smoothly, could you provide links of the products?

From what i recall the front pinion bearing is indeed different, believe it had more riding surface area by being deeper.
