So I didn't realize I didn't store it someplace safe. I just left it in the cabin of the car... and you know how Haru sheds all of his hair? The plug is like covered in greasy dog hair. Completely covered.

Oh you must've missed it in the other thread. Yeah. Put a deposit down two weeks ago for a GR Corolla waitlist.

It's not that I can't afford the second car but it's not very easy to find parking for one car at my apartment complex and also since I WFH I don't have a commute to split miles between two cars.

I remembered that there was some shit on mine so I took a pic. That sealant needs to be scraped off completely. I was surprised to see it when I first removed my plug. I still don't agree with using goop there, but it does need a good gasket.

Ahhh. So it's not a reusable gasket? I'll probably need to buy something for that then.

Use a fresh one so you don't have to torque the piss out of it to get a good seal.

It really should be a crush washer or copper washer. Probably cost and reduced BOM.

Yeah. Like the cover plate where the vacuum pump is installed for an automatic, it's not intended as a service port. Any crumbs that fall in there will clog a bearing feed. No issues with installation. Trouble starts with the subsequent removal.
