Facadebook is for users who want AI to drive their cars for them.

The way this site has performed and what we have seen the last few months becoming more and more consistent. I've seen this before with other automotive forums. The end is near boys and girls. Save/download what you can for now and hope for the best.

This may be the most broken website I've seen in the last decade. The issues are definitely getting noticed and word is being spread too as I've now seen others mention it on Reddit, FB, and IG.
"Undergoing 30 minute site maintenance" for like the last 2+ days...Thankfully I have a 2nd gen and can use GR86 dot org, which is 100x better than this site. |

It's funny whenever the maintenance is done, we're getting more spambots appearing. Feels like a one-man army for whoever is maintaining the website. The website HTML/java coding needs to be worked on by adding a honeypot to reduce the likelihood of spam bots appearing. Kinda sad, that the website is falling apart as the days go by and some vendors are leaving/taking their business elsewhere to draw traffic.

Why would I go to GR86 dotorg when all the hot sexy women are here?
Also, for shits and giggles, I set a timer to see how long it takes to make this post. Loading the front page, then the forums, then this subforum, then quoting your post, then uploading an image took 9 minutes and 32 seconds. And I haven’t even submitted the post yet. Probably another minute for that. EDIT: submitting the post took 3 minutes lmao. I am on a gigabit connection, but I really love how this forum brings back the authentic 90s vibe of waiting 20 minutes for an image to load. Last edited by removedonut; 06-24-2024 at 03:48 PM. |

Not sure what, if anything, has changed behind the scenes, but FWIW, the last week or so, the site has consistently loaded up fast for me.
EDIT: And sure enough, right after I posted this it started slowing down for me again...LOL

To echo your comment, it's been generally quick for me. At least acceptable. No more timing out or blank pages - which is a huge improvement.

Whoever that maintains this site needs to do some work. We're back to the same slowness that plagued us in the past.
It also appears that there are no moderators now. Is the site truly dead now? |

Regardless of this site performing like dog shit, I find myself waiting the 15 minutes it takes multiple times a day still... Home is where your heart is, I guess
