A fun, but functionally questionable mod. I love induction noise, but know the stock intake setup is quite good. So I left the box but replaced the snorkel. Now I get induction resonance, which I didn’t with just resonators deleted.
I really like this mod, even if it gets me no power. It’s a high quality 3D print using what looks like power laser process. Excellent density and smoothness. I really like the bell opening as well. Quality piece from Outbound Motorsports.

I forgot to talk about it earlier in the thread, so this is out of order. Mid last year, I switched to an OS Giken LSD from CSG. Significant low speed improvement in terms of traction, but what really surprised me was when I moved to the MCS 3W coilovers. It really feels like those unlocked the full potential of the OS Giken as well. I have far more confidence to stand on the throttle earlier. Not a single unintended oversteer event at the first event this year, where I would have maybe 1-2 of those a day on the old setup.

What did you do for car-side trailer wiring? There's a CURT plug-and-play for 1st-gen cars, but it's not listed for 2nd gen cars.

It's a generic kit. Leroy Engineering did this one, but there's a power wire run all the way to the battery, and signal is tapped from the wires behind the rear left light. Pretty basic really. I wasn't even sure if the dedicated power line was necessary given that it's all LEDs on the trailer, but they insisted.

Looking here: https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru_20...11-842-01.html It seems like you can get the small harness that goes between the main wiring harness and the left rear bulb for about $45. I wonder if I could just get one of those to make a little plug-and-play jumper harness. |

Do you think you could take a picture of where the car wiring was tapped?
I've been staring at wiring diagrams and parts diagrams and instructions for things, and I have a decent idea of what needs to be done, but would like to see more info from a working solution to make sure I'm on the right track. There's an accessible 12 pin connector on the roof of the trunk that I think has all the signals, and I think ideally I'd like to find a source for the male and female connectors and pins to build a little jumper harness. I'm hoping GJP or Ansix or someone might be able to help once I'm sure that's a good spot. My HF trailer came with LED lights, and I measured about 70 ma for one rear running light, and 170 for the brake/turn light, so with the other side, license plate, and front side running lights, I'm guessing the whole trailer at max draw will be like 1.5A, which can probably be run from the 12v socket in the glove box, along with one of those curt circuit isolating splice in kits. I don't think I want to use the Tekonsha ZCI harness, because it's expensive and prone to leaving/turning on the trailer when the car is off. |

I'll try to pull the tail light(s) this weekend. Feel free to ping me if you don't hear back.

Just knowing you need to pull them tells me what I wanted to know. I'll pull mine and get a pic of the connectors. Ansix gave me a tip dor the connector, but I want to get some.good pics to try to confirm before I order things. My goal is to make some jumper harnesses and then use a Curt 3-to-2 adapter. Or maybe start with a first gen kit and change the plugs / add jumper wires for the other contacts.

Installed Girodiscs all around. Fronts are straightforward. Rears require you to clearance the pads because the backing plate of the outside pad will interfere with the rotor hat flanges. It’s a very aggressive fit and you need to clearance them all the way down to the pad material.
It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be. I used a Milwaukee die grinder with a carbide burr grinder. Didn’t take too long and it didn’t heat up much.
