I think I would take getting puked on.
The flights there were awful. Wife was very sick, and sick and having panic attacks the entire time at our sons.

When your wife is having close to a breakdown, crying begging you to not make her go back on a plane, you go with plan B.

I love my wife, but she does like to surf the line on the crazy/hot scale.

Soooo... We are never flying again, so I need a touring car. Looking at the Mercedes S450 Coupe. Massage seats!

What was your previous one? What features do you want/need?

Just curious of what's out there that's new. If I can't find something, I'll just get the same thing again.

Rexing V1P. I was curious if anything out there that's newer had better video footage or not. I'm not big on fancy features. Just curious what people use or recommend.

I'm using a Viofo A129 Pro Duo. I was originally looking at the higher name brands, like Thinkware and BlackVue, but after looking at comparison videos (all cameras in the same car at the same time), I actually ended up liking the Viofo video quality a lot more. I also just wanted parking mode, which this does.

Only downside is the rear cam cable is a bit thick, so it's harder to route. The newer models utilize a thinner cable.

And previous to that, I was using their entry (I think it was their entry model) A119. Here's one of the clips I saved from it.

I've read good things about Viofo! I was looking at the BlackVue DR970X and the Thinkware U1000 as well as it would be nice to get 4k but many of those are super expensive. Another feature was something that is rather low profile. My Rexing was a chonky boi for sure.

You can get 4k with Viofo. I actually like having a small screen to be able to change settings since I turn on and off parking mode twice a day. Hard to do that if you have to get onto an app.

I'm thinking about getting a new car. I'm thinking I might sell the Lotus next year. If I sell my lotus, I want to replace with something fun. But then again, I always have the twin and my older 911.

I have given up on the idea of an R8. New is way too much money, and I don't want to buy a 10 year old, or older one.

The Corvette is cool, but at the same time kind of silly. It would be cool, and it would solve the touring car issue too for long drives. (We have to go back to Texas in April for my son's wedding.). They claim 27 mpg highway, so maybe 25? So not cheap on long trips. Plus very expensive tires I'm sure.

Then there is the Mercedes coupe. It would be a great traveling car, plus all wheel drive would be great for Idaho winters. And at 360+ hp would be fun I'm sure. 30 mpg highway.

Then there is the more practical route: replacing my 19 yo truck with a new one. Fully loaded they are like traveling in a luxury car. Cost the same as a Corvette fully loaded. I think you could get a lesser one in the high 50k range. Probably same mileage as the vette.

Then there is the option of getting something like a Honda accord. Inexpensive compared to the others, and the hybrid gets like 45 mpg. I'm sure it would be a comfortable trip car.

Or totally impractical option, keep everything and buy either the Corvette or the Mercedes. Saving would take a big hit, wife would get over it, and you only live once! The lotus and the 911 are only going to go up in value.

What do you think? Any other cars to consider? (Not a Subaru or Toyota fan)
