TIL (yesterday) not to bank on package delivery delays due to holidays. Ordered something expensive and the ETA was 29Dec. Nah, it's getting delivered tomorrow instead while I'm still out of town. O_o

Speaking of shipping...
TIL (well ok earlier this week) that FedEx has an odd idea of what weather delays are. I ordered a Playstation Bundle including a Playstation Portal from a company online that was the last ones that had them. I did not realize the company's shipping location was just 25 miles from my house. Tracking the package on FedEx, I saw it leave their facility and go to a distribution center 10 miles from their location. It was then loaded on a delivery truck to be delivered to my house. 30 minutes later I got a "weather delay". The weather here was high 60s and sunny. When I looked at the path the only possible thing I could see was that there is a large lake that is known for bass fishing between me and the distribution center. Maybe the driver thought the weather was too good to pass up the option for some fishing. Two hours later, the weather "cleared" and the shipment continued on to my house.

It was an important learning moment for me. Most mishaps are rooted in a lack of situational awareness.

Situational and self awareness, two qualities that get one far in life.. Missing one and you're doomed...Sadly, rather common that people are missing at least one if not both.

Is almost like you could see how my day went yesterday. I was fine. Wife was getting a cough looked at and managed to whack her arm in just the right spot. Fainted twice before I managed to get there. Not broken but needed X-rays to find out, and a tetanus shot. And I had to pick up her car. Spare key fob battery was dead when I got there...

Ugh. Hopefully the cough wasn't serious.

Won't kill her this time. The utter lack of care and inability to connect with her PCD could some day though. 5+ weeks of it. Not always as bad, but asthma and such complicate recovery.

Til I learned that not everyone has an internal monologue. I mean, wow!! I had never considered that some people don't have an inner voice.
