The other day I did an impulse buy at the store. I grabbed a can of Fosters Lager. Haven't had one of those big cans in forever.

So yesterday I drank it watching football. While I'm pouring it in a glass, I learned it is brewed in the USA. Says it right around the top of the can. When did this happen? I guess it isn't "Australian for beer" anymore.

I don't think it was even brewed anymore in Australia by time Crocodile Dundee even came out.

When I visited Perth back in the mid eighties, the locals warned me not to order it in pubs lest I stand out like an idiot. Swan lager was then the acceptable choice.

Just another XXXX label bought back in the 80's along with Heineken, Becks and Carlsberg.
All produced in the US to sell to the punters wanting to look cool at the fern bar.

I did like the Carlsberg Elephants back before it sold. That made me sad. New formula didn't agree with me.
It's all about JINRO IS BACK sochu now. Look for the blue toad.

TIL (yesterday) not to bank on package delivery delays due to holidays. Ordered something expensive and the ETA was 29Dec. Nah, it's getting delivered tomorrow instead while I'm still out of town. O_o

Speaking of shipping...

TIL (well ok earlier this week) that FedEx has an odd idea of what weather delays are.

I ordered a Playstation Bundle including a Playstation Portal from a company online that was the last ones that had them. I did not realize the company's shipping location was just 25 miles from my house.

Tracking the package on FedEx, I saw it leave their facility and go to a distribution center 10 miles from their location.

It was then loaded on a delivery truck to be delivered to my house.

30 minutes later I got a "weather delay". The weather here was high 60s and sunny.

When I looked at the path the only possible thing I could see was that there is a large lake that is known for bass fishing between me and the distribution center. Maybe the driver thought the weather was too good to pass up the option for some fishing.

Two hours later, the weather "cleared" and the shipment continued on to my house.

A equally plausible reason would be that his girl friend lives on the route and he stopped in for "lunch".

Lmao conversely, FedEx is who is delivering my packaging far too efficiently

Pretty sure I mentioned the time Fedex freight pulled the same on me and I could see their freight depot from my office. That was a fun call.

Look on the positive, perhaps it knocked some sense into him or you.. or may be not...
