A lot of '13's for sale...

Hi everyone. I was cruising FB Marketplace looking at cars people are selling and noticed that there is a massive amount of '13 FRS's for sale. Is there a reason everyone is getting rid of this year over the others? Thanks

Proportionally there are of them than any other year I believe. Also, since it's past the 11 year mark (2013s are really 2012s) I would imagine a lot of first and even second owners are ready to move on.

There haven't been a lot of new cars available in the last three or four years.
A few were around, but only at wallet breaking prices, and most buyers gave it a pass.
Things have loosened up lately and owners are feeling empowered to look around now for something fresh.

It's not a bad thing. Look at how many of them are still running. Wow!
Not a lemon. Mine's not for sale yet though.

I see a lot of cheap (relatively) track cars in the future.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've always had the thought that if you see a bunch of one thing used for sale, there's probably a reason everyone is getting rid of them. I know the '13s had the engine issue but that got fixed.

Getting rid of implies giving away. I have yet to see anyone giving away their vehicle for less than market value. People that have yet to experience this vehicle will have access to it in the market.
That reflects well on the car despite it being of the format that a large proportion of owners will beat on. The less they cost people, the more they will get abused.
I can say for sure that despite all the modifications, my 2013 is in sound mechanical shape. I could even remove some of the add ons and make it my son's car down the road, although I'd be more inclined to keep it all together and eventually sell it with all the original parts should anyone wish to return any part of it to stock. Maybe use the proceeds to put toward something more appropriate.
