We make about that here in OKC and no kids. But even at that, we are still feeling the pinch of inflation. Thankfully our mortgage is only $1100 month with property taxes and insurance.

I've also been trying to prioritize my 401k. Building my 2nd gen the way I want it and paying extra on both vehicles.

But this affords is to be able to go to lots of concerts, comedy shows, and nice dinners/brunch. I can't remember the last time we went to a sit down meal that didn't cost more than $100 with tip for 2 people.

You're gonna be able to do all that with ~$110k post tax?

Please post links to these discount C8 corvettes, cheap houses and cheap Hawaiian vacations. A used C8 is $80k so unless your mortgage is on a cardboard box and your idea of "hawaiian vacation" is smoking some crack while you watch reruns of Magnum P.I. in some piss filled back alley I'm going to go with you're making shit up or are completely out of touch with reality.

Well, to be fair, he didn't say he could do them all at once!

We don't have state income tax here. But I did forget about federal income tax. I'm retired so I don't pay tax anymore.
I guess that vacation would have to wait.

We pay plenty of stupid, BS taxes here as well.

Let me give you an example of the BS that happens in Oklahoma. When they finally allowed the lottery, "The extra money generated will go to the schools!" Nope, it just got funneled to more tax credits for oil and gas.

And now we have a religious zealot as the State Superintendent of Schools, who is purposefully starting a war against the big school districts as an excuse to take them over, so he can divert money to "vouchers."

Which if any of you know what that really means is, diverting tax dollars to private, religious schools.

My cardboard box home is a 3 bedroom 2 bath on 1/2 acre with a huge garage located in a wonderful rural neighborhood. It cost $165,000 30 years ago. And here's the price for a new 2024 C4.
Maybe you should get away from Pepperidge Farm every now and then and see what the rest of the world is like.

Maybe you should go to a dealership and try to buy a 2024 corvette. You will not be able to buy one at anything close to MSRP.

Your out of touch boomer clown takes continue to amaze.

The average cost of a home is double in Canada compared to our neighbours in the USA.

BS. I feel for the younger generation.

Housing prices differing between generations is not new. The 4 bedroom, 1 bath house I grew up in on one acre of land cost my parents $20,000 in 1967. By the time I could buy a house 16 years later, housing prices were well into the 6 figure range.

I was saying what I could do with $170,000. Not what YOU could do with it. And I've never paid more than MSRP in my life. Wait long enough and the dealer always will come around.
