Do I need an oil cooler?

It's really nothing compared to what I've put into mods on the car in the 11 months I've owned it. There is like $7500 just in suspension/wheels/tires. And that doesn't count a bunch of other stuff.

I just assume keep the good relationship I have with my dealer. And to be honest, I'm not that worried about the RTV issue since I don't plan on tracking the car.

Planning on getting one of the jackson racing coolers. (I want to keep the conditioner since I drive it in the winter)


Is there any advantage to going with the dual radiator over the air cooler?

Money isn't a problem for me either, my comment was with context of probability. If there is 1% chance engine would blow and someone is selling me insurance at 10% cost, I would say it's expensive. 5-6k engine replacement is cheaper than paying $500 to cover failure from one problem that's not even 1%.

As per I understand, you 'air cooler' would block radiator. With dual it won't.

Oil would get to operating temperature much quicker in colder climate.

Simply put a cover over the air-to-air unit.

Just like in colder climates you'll sometimes see semi-trucks have part of the radiator grill obstructed to reduce airflow to help maintain temp.

Honestly, I'm not AS concerned with water temps. And I don't think people have been having issues with oil coolers blocking too much of the radiators.


That being said, it looks like the dual radiator is the better solution for my purposes. I just hope it fits with that new HKS intake.

I have to look for the post, but I saw other post that said it's the same case in dual, oil takes longer to warm up.

Compared to stock, yes. Compared to the track cooler, no. It is an oil cooler. When driving, it will COOL. no matter what, but it will typically be in a 30 degree delta to the coolant temp. If you start your car and immediately start driving, both coolant and oil temp will be low. If you start the car and let it get to temp, it will maintain it. Also that person never mentioned the ambient temp.
