I wish you luck - I took mine to the dealer with the same issue and they made a big deal that they had tightened the belt up using the idler pulley adjustment. It didn't change anything. If you want it fixed, you'll have to be forceful.

I saw that you are from Boston as well. Mind if I ask you the name of the dealer?

Call Subaru. For the benefit of not only you but the community at large we need to make sure issues like this one are addressed.

PM'ed. They're who I purchased from in the Waltham area and they don't have a stellar service reputation.

Thanks for the advice. What is the protocol for this? Is SOA looking for technical issues, or are you suggesting I comment on my lack of satisfaction with the service I received?

Both. I don't know exactly how dealers operate, but Subaru may not be aware of the A/C issue. Since others, myself included, are experiencing this problem, it appears to be some sort of design or assembly flaw. Making sure that higher-ups are involved increases the chance of a resolution for you, including a potential TSB.

I have the first legitimate failure in this thread:

My power trunk opener just died. Both the button in the car and the one on my keyfob. I'm pretty pissed, I had every electric motor in my G35 die on me. I'm already starting to wonder when the window motors and power door locks will fail!

It seems to be a common problem. Take it to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty.

You sure the poorly placed "off" switch in the trunk didn't just get flipped? That turns off the power trunk release and requires the key instead. It's a valet thing but like hell any valet will ever drive my car!

Odd noise the other day from I think the drivers side front dash speaker area. Sounded similar to a blown speaker. I turned the radio off and the noise was still present. Unplugged my iPhone, no change. Went away the next day. Weird.

Thanks for this... I didn't realize there was a switch. That's probably the problem.

Am I the only one noticing that around highway speeds air gets underneath the hood and pushes it up and makes it look like it's floating around?
