ok I will try and word this simply enough for you guys. Can anybody tell me what is going on with the car when it goes into this mode? How does it differ from the pedal dance if at all. Also, this has clearly never happened to you before because when it goes into this mode the brake lights STILL work. Maybe we are talking about a different switch.

Quick question - when you do the pedal dance, is there a need to turn on Track mode?
With the pedal dance, the only thing left is ABS, correct? EBFD, stability are off? Headed to the track tomorrow morning. |

Yes, only ABS remains. EBD, VSC, TCS, e-diff are all off. |

Disconnecting the brake light switch would not only kill your brake lights, it would also keep you from actually doing the pedal dance because it's used along with the handbrake switch to enter the cheat code.

Not knowing your driving experience, I suggest some practice tonight to get a feel for triggering it. There's a lot going on in the paddock just beforehand. Might not catch the first time if it's not completely up to temp.

Oh, hell yeah. You don't need any of that stability shit. It won't kill ABS, though. I've never pulled the fuse but I'm not super aggressive.
Did you have any trouble triggering it?

I don't mind the ABS. At least it will prevent flat spotting tires. I need to get a set of spare rims and some track tires for it. |

This post is old, but somewhat related without starting a new thread.
Has anyone noticed that the car will give a higher, firmer initial brake pedal in certain situations - mostly when you've got something like a short but fast kink before a heavy braking area. It feels similar to MK60E5 ABS anti-knockback pre-pressurization. This is not to be confused with the high, hard pedal where the car won't slow down that some people refer to as "ice mode", where the ABS is locking you out while it recovers. I can coax the car into that on demand and work around it easily, so it is a non issue. I've never experienced the other form of "ice mode" where the ABS deactivates in this car, but have in other cars. Car is permanently pedal danced via Beastronix, ABS module is out of a 2020.

I have a 2015 FR-S that has the Traction Control and ABS off. I replaced the ABS actuator and the rear-right Speed Sensor (code for the traction control), but the ABS and TC are still not working. So I changed the ECM... but it's still not working. Also, the fan is permanently on (no fan or cooling system codes). I'm looking for some sort of modification made to the vehicle, but I haven't found one. I checked at the ECM, behind the Instrument Cluster and at the Hand Brake, but I haven't found anything.
Does anyone have an idea what or where I should check next? |

Does your car show any codes? I'd check for codes in the ABS module as well if you have a scan tool that support it. Also, if you have a data logging device that communicates with the ECU via CAN (like an AiM Solo DL), you can have it display data like wheel speeds to verify things are working. Good luck fixing the issue! |
