I wouldn't say it has the same basic engine. The original Z34 uses the VQ37, while the new RZ34 uses the VR30. Going from the Z33 to the Z34, you can say same basic engine since both are in the VQ family.

Nissan only delivered 500 of them in 2Q2023 in the US. At that rate, they could make every one of them some type of special edition.

That probably applies more to Infiniti than Nissan.

Nissan at least updated a few of their cars recently

The Z was never on our radar, but I just hit the Nissan website -- curb weight of about 3500LB! Wow, and I thought the original 240Z was a pig...

240Z was a decent amount lighter-weight than your avatar pic, anyway! And 1200 lb. lighter than the current monstrosity...

Nissan shoulda teamed up with Toyobaru and made a short-wheelbase 2-seat version of the Ft86 and dropped an NA V6 in it! That woulda been a proper modern Z forrealz...
