Yikes! Sounds like the helmet saved your life. I didn't start wearing a helmet until after I broke my wrist. Now I'm religious about it, and the often overlooked proper fit/adjustment.

My brothers been having some health issues, nothing serious really but the doctor recommended a colonoscopy just to check things out.

Apparently they found a carcinoid (?) and they're going to have my brother do another colonoscopy in one or two months for another look.

Anybody here have experience with that?

It's hard not to be a little concerned... he's only about 40 years old...

Yup, got another helmet after I healed up a bit. My friend who was drafting me said he ran over my stomach. Must have been when I blacked out since I don't remember it. I guess I was so out of it that when another friend grabbed my phone and took this pic, my reaction was to smile. LOL

It's best to catch things early. I'm a little confused as I'm thinking a carcinoid is a tumor and not a polyp. If that's the case, I would think they would have done a colectomy asap, as they did for my mother. Polyps they cut and remove and have you come back for a follow up colonoscopy.

I dunno. My brother said the doctor said it wasn't a polyp.

Shit! Ouch!

No, you blacked out when you rang your bell. Then your friend ran over you while you were flopping like a rag doll. That's how it plays out in my head.

Oh yeah, that's what I was implying, that I was conked out when he ran me over. lol. Last I looked, I was going 35 mph. It was a pretty stupid accident. I normally lead my friends since I had "headlights" on my handles. They were previously on a Trek road bike that had normal round handles, and when I transferred them to the new to me Raleigh road bike that had semi flat handles, it started to droop down. It was still day light, but my OCD got to me and I took one hand off to fix the headlight. Guess I must have his a pebble or something, cuz the front wheel quickly turned and down I went.

Interesting. Maybe it wasn't cancerous after all since they didn't schedule anything aside from a follow up colonoscopy????

Nah I think they want the follow up because to them it's still concerning.

But I'm assuming (hopefully?) that since they didn't call for an immediate recheck or procedure it must have not looked overly serious?

OMG, just googled for the lulz. Here's my bike! I paid $250 for it brand new in 1984. I paid $250 for a seat ten years ago.

Sounds like you gave that up just in time -

Back in my college days, I rode my 10 speed about 60 miles a day, during the summer.

I found out one day that the front wheel on my bike just fit real tight down in the lip of the old trolly track on campus. And there was the asshole that stepped off the curb in front of me. And then there was another ass hole that opened his car door while I was white lining.

Nope - never wore a helmet - and see how I turned out -

Oh yes, I have been scoped several times (both with and without being put under). I preferred the former. They took a few chunks out, nothing turned out bad.

Let's hope your brother's tumor is benign.
