Are these Cheap Wheels?

They certainly have cheap Chinese tires wrapped around them, making me think they are probbably not quality wheels either, but I cant tell..

Can't always trust that though. Apex did an article on it.

Damn, oh well. I agree with the above in that they are probably Rota Grids, the Rotas are super common in the Subaru community in 5x100

Yeah, its trashed. The car is on a dealer lot, the interior is dirty, the sideblades are missing from both fenders. It's lowered, has the aftermarket wheels/tires and an aftermarket exhaust (though I am not sure what one). No engine bay photos, 53K miles.

The Roof is wrapped black, has Perin wing risers, smoked side markers, tow hook tag mount, but it still kinda looks good..

Carfax says its a one owner that lived in TX unil recently listed by dealer in MD. I was thinking about going to look at it, but starting think it was probbably ridden hard and put away wet..

But it is a manual PP car..

Curious if it has 'passed' State inspection or not..

Depending on price, it might be worth it. I'd probably want a compression test on the motor to see how tired it might be. The cosmetic stuff can be fixed.

Funny thing, was going back looking for that listing and came across a new listing for a 2017 PP car with half the mileage, presumably stock, with an asking price $1,000 lower, closer to where I live and my first choice of color.

Need to make a call in the morning..

Lots of flood cars being shipped all over recently.
Bring some tools and look under a few carpets.

Good Point. Red car was listed as living in Southern Texas (Houston, Baytown, Beaumont), so certainly an area that would be prone to flood damaged vehicles..

Wonder how many of these flood cars don't show up on carfax reports, and why..

The other car I stumbled on appears to have lived its life in NJ and PA, so probbably less likely an issue..

that's easy.

carfax is a dumpster panda for information.

http://abcnews.go.com/Business/trust...8#.UbOr4_nrxyU

there's no law, regulation, or requirement anywhere, by anyone, that requires carfax to be updated on anything. whatever they have, they scraped together from their access to various databases. if it's entered in a different database, or handled differently, it might never reach carfax's records.

my last vehicle was also a carfax 'misfire'. i learned later it was rear-ended before i bought it, but i bought partly because it had a clean carfax.

it's a good tool, but just like any other tools, a pliers can't peel an apple like a knife does. use it as it's intended, trust as far as you can throw an intangible service, rely on instinct, and independent inspections otherwise.
