Yes, I know how much hp and torque the turbo 3 in the GR puts out. But to me there's still something wrong with a 3 cylinder engine. It's just harmonically not as balanced as a 4 cylinder. What a sad day that will be, to look back wistfully and think of the good old days when you could get a 4 cylinder engine. We should appreciate the last days of naturally-aspirated V8's right now. |

i dont believe its a strength issue. if it was, why would they make the effort into even make an aluminum knuckle. the cast knuckle is cheaper to produce. i personally dont think the flex thing is the real reason either.. again... why would subaru go through all the R&D into making an aluminum knuckle, showcase it during the car's initial reveal only to remove it in favor of brakes that the car doesnt really need. it doesnt add up it was said at Subiefest. it can be heard in a few videos right after the reveal.. |

subaru literally makes this car for toyota at their plants. toyota wouldnt dump all the money into a production line for a car with low sales that doesnt make them much money. let's not forget that it would bump the MSRP of the car up beyond 45k and compete with their other 2dr sports car... the Supra. they wont create competition for themselves lol |

I understand the previous version Brembos require some sort of adapter before mating to the new Al knuckles... Which incidentally cost a few more Yen to make, and Toyota already uses the old iron ones... so someone in Japan must have said "F' it" (in Japanese) and just decided to go with the old iron knuckles. How else can you bring out a Ts version without actually spending any money!
The remaining question: how does one say "F' it" in Japanese? |

Meh, every car company have some vehicles in their lineup that compete with others in their lineups. There is always overlap in pricing.

Toyota may be forced to go solo on the next gen simply because Subaru won't be a partner in the project any more. Right now, the BRZ is the black sheep of the family. It doesn't match the overall corporate direction of Subaru at all. The BRZ isn't AWD, it isn't lifted, it won't go off road, you can't really boast about the safety structure of the vehicle like the Forrester or Outback, and worst of all: you can't haul cute puppies in it. Subaru's given up on their "halo" WRX by phoning in the recent generation and killing the STI. It's not hard to imagine the BRZ they've never really loved in the first place being dropped completely. Toyota, on the other hand, seems to be making an effort to offer at least a couple fun, on-road, performance cars. The GR86 fits well in their corporate strategy. I was with you until that one. Multiple members here have posted photos of hauling their canine companion around in their Twin.

We've always owned large dogs and I know our late Great Dane would never fit. We had problems with getting her into much more spacious cars. My perspective on dog ownership is probably a little skewed. |

Our dogs are Newfoundlands so I completely get it. They ride in the FRS on occasion, and love to ride in MomHawk's Mustang Convertible. If the door is open, she is in the car!
