Lowering

Hi! I hate the wheel gap my 2018 brz currently has, and I want to lower my car. I want the ride quality to be pretty similar to stock springs. I'm wondering is there any lowering springs that can drop me to lower the gap and not have a super bouncy ride or I'm I just gonna have to pull the trigger on coilovers? It's my daily so I really don't want a annoying bouncy ride

If you don't need adjustability in ride height or damping then get lowering springs. Coilovers are expensive and a pain in the ass to set up

Yeah. I'm not worried about how hard they would be to set up. I'm really only worried about spring rates for quality of life. I just want the lower look with the same ride quality

I have coilovers and not lowering springs, so I can't recommend a brand beyond TRD. I believe they will be closest to stock. If you got something like the Tein S Tech you'll notice a larger difference as that's a more aggressive drop and spring rate

Yeah. I looked at spring rates for stock and lowering springs and I'm leaning towards getting some springs. They are pretty cheap and if I get them and like the quality then I'll keep them. If not I'm only out a couple hundred bucks

You can always resell them and you'll only be out like 25% initial cost. If you want coilovers that feel like stock you're gonna be spending big money. I have Fortune 500s myself and have been very pleased. But it doesn't feel stock

I run RCE yellows with B6. They're very OEM+ in terms of looks. Most people assume it is stock ride height especially parked next to other twins on coils

I like the look. I think the small wheel gap looks good. I don't want a slammed car, just a little less monster truck. I'm leaning towards the Eibach sport line springs

I put the Eibach Pro Kit on my car the week after I got it and haven't looked back. It solves the Toyota wheel gap syndrome very well. I don't know why Toyota has always included an ample wheel gap with all their cars through the years. I remember the Celica's back in the day were always ready for a flood.

I have RCE Yellows and I would say they are noticeably harsher than stock. I prefer it as the car feels better for it, but someone who just wants a cosmetic upgrade and keep the ride the same you might be disappointed. I'm sure the same applies to most other lowering springs, including TRD/STI/TS.

Have any problems with camber or anything with little adjustment from stock?

Anything that lowers more than a inch you will basically be driving around on the bymp stops and ride quality will be terrible.

Yellows are definitely firmer than stock but ride height being around 20mm drop at least gives you some travel before you hit them.

The eibach comes with its own bump stops? I wouldn't think they'd make springs that ride on bump stops 24/7. They have a progressive spring rate as well
