As long as it looked cool! No harm, but doubtful there was any benefit at all! Someone else on these forums put his up for sale after it collected barely a couple of ounces over 1000s of miles and a few track days

Yes, that's the "D-4S" is. It was basically Toyota's only contribution to engine development. Thought this was common knowledge.

But I realize not everyone who likes these cars are serious gearheads who grew up around race cars and modifying their own cars since they were 16.

join date is going to have a significant effect on that.

anyone that joined before 2015 was almost directly involved in learning the history of the car. anything after that is going to be a toss-up. some will care about the lineage, more are taking the car at face value.

I think my join at z31.com was in 1998? And that had already been around for years. It's called doing research, something the kids seem averse to, because it takes a few minutes.

It has to do as much as need to be a "serious gearheads who grew up around race cars and modifying their own cars since they were 16". It doesn't take any of those (join date, modding cars since 16, growing up around race cars etc).

I am 32, I had no interest in cars till 2018. To be frank, it doesn't take more than one nut loose to know about cars. I know what engines and transmissions are in sedans, minivans, SUVs from all Japanese and Korean brands, that's because I have more than one screw loose
