Recondition steering rack

New ones are more than 400. CarID, with which I've had some successful dealings in the past, has reconditioned ones for 207.00. My car has 60,000 miles and probably won't see more than another 20,000. Does anyone have experience with these? Is it a good or bad idea?

I'm also going to order camber bolts and have some negative camber dialed in when they align it.

I would take used over "reconditioned" but that's just me. Why are you replacing the rack?

Is it the rack or electric assist causing the clunks? I'd interested in knowing. My steering is making a "Wareing werring?" sound when I do a low speed right turn.

MSRP on a new rack from Toyota is only $300, and you can find them online for $220. I just bought one.

I had my wrench check and that was his conclusion. I have some other things to do in there and haven't ordered a rack yet. I'm concerned about it vanishing into the UPS strike. I bought a part from a member a couple weeks ago and there was a long, unexplained delay before it finally arrived 9 days later. Don't know if UPS is affected yet, but that delay was concerning.
