Someone I'm acquaintances with in my friend group recently mentioned that they made chicken paprikash. However I've never actually had it. I think I honestly know it most from it being mentioned in a brief scene of one of the Marvel movies lol.
Anyway, decided to give it a shot for dinner tonight just to make something different from my usual rotation:  Honestly I was not impressed...like, at all. I followed one of the recipes from Serious Eats/New York Times pretty much to the T other than probably seasoning amounts. The flavor profile did not agree with me lol.

I found something I really like. I really enjoyed the lobster rolls I made, however, the lobster tails are rarely on sale. I'm not paying $10 for a 3 oz. tail, so I came up with an alternative. Wal-Mart has shrimp pretty cheap. I get the large or jumbo shrimp, peeled and de-vained, and do a quick boil in water with some Old Bay seasoning. Then I make a simple salad with the shrimp, celery, green onion, mayo, lemon juice and zest. A decent sammy roll toasted and yum!

Took a drive up to Port Angeles Friday for another Frugal Burger.
The Hurricane Ridge day lodge at the top burned down last Sunday and there's major road surface rebuilding happening now at the visitor center at the bottom of the hill where I usually stop off for a picnic. Parked up in the Olympic Park Administration lot where it's less hectic.

I'm doing a 4-day fishing trip out of San Deigo next month. I'm going for the Bluefin Tuna but I'm sure we'll catch a bunch of Yellowtail as well. I've never brought any home or tried it for that matter. Is it any good?? I know giving it away at the dock was never an issue LOL. These pictures go back 20+ years. Second one is me and my father,, took him on an 8 day trip. Good times.
