If anyone is looking for a new Trueno Blue GR86 automatic with all weather mats and rear bumper protector let me know. I received a call today from a place with one on the lot. DM a good contact number. Serious buyers only.

I've been seeing "market adjustment" pricing on, both, new and used 86s. Used 86s are going for 36k lol. Ridiculous.

It seems like manuals are much more common in the regions around me these days. Maybe slightly more than AT. Better late than never.

Unfortunately yeah, the usual suspects still mark up. Nothing wild but 3-5k, usually closer to 3k seems typical.

New version of the spreadsheet seems to catch a lot of what's out there, for anyone still hunting:

It's both amazing and totally predictable how the difference in front bumpers and ordering systems affects the prices of the Twins. I'll be walking out of a Subaru dealer in 2 weeks $29,800 lighter. I wonder how much I'd have been willing to pay for an 86 if I could have gotten one...

Gonna repeat my story from the '22+ BRZ forum, don't know if it's the same situation for GR86, but probably similar I'd guess.

I'd been sorta keeping an eye out and every ad, I'd call up and it was sold, nothing coming in for months, do I wanna order one and get it in 4-6 months?

Then I *had* to get a new car, I searched nationwide on AutoTrader and requested info on every single available BRZ Limited/manual in my acceptable colors (Sapphire, Magnetite, WRB), clearly stating I was ready to buy. MOST were already sold, but not *all*. I had a deposit on a WRB in Huntsville AL, then one in Attleboro MA, but then the gray one in NH showed up and was available. Boom, I test-drove and put down a deposit.

I had 3 deposits down at one point in time, all for MSRP + "dealer fees" amounting to $500-$800...

They are out there but you'll have to spend a couple/few solid days of back/forth with dealers!

Before you buy it go test drive a 2022 WRX. I am in Denver now. I have the OEM short shifter installed which makes a big difference. DM me if you want to meet up. I was dead set on a GR86 when I was in CA, but up here the turbo and the power improvements they are making with just an intake, tune, and E30 is insane - 13.3s in the 1/4 mile up here. All you need are pads and brake fluid.

My last sports car was a modified STi. I'm going for a different style this time. I realize the power is gonna be soft up in Breckenridge.

Oh, that makes sense. I wouldn't mind a GR86 but I don't think I would buy one over a WRX up here. I am probably going to be at that decision point again within the next weeks if they total my car.

If the power is just too lacking, in a year or so I'll put a WRX engine in it.

Ideally they find out the stock engine is as strong as the WRX engine and just adding a turbo kit using E30 brings it up to 350 whp without issues. That would be a fun car.

After selling my 2017 BRZ and going through a few cars (Miata, Elantra N), I'm extremely happy to share that I just put a deposit down on a '23 GR86 Premium MT in Pavement Grey.

Slated to arrive in mid-July. Paid MSRP and it's coming with the GR exhaust, fender vents, and shift knob.

So happy to be coming home to the twins!

Congrats!

Clearly the USA isn't having the same issues as Canada.
