Got my second free Toyotacare oil change and the DCM reprogram.

Naturally, the Toyota Dealership didn't have the right oil filter and put a Gen1 filter in my car instead of the correct one. So I ordered four of them. This is the only car I've ever owned I could replace the oil filter on and not lose a ton of oil in the process.

So what do we figure, they can do 3 oil changes or so? Maybe 4?

I wish I could trust my Toyota dealer and save a few bucks but I don't think I could do it.

I'm due one more "free" oil change - I'll have them do it but I'm going to bring my own filter next time.

They also overfilled it, but at least this engine tolerates that better than some.

On a different note, 512GB works, even through Garmin said 256GB is the max.

What did I do to my GR86 today?? Got underneath it, cleaned a ton of oil off the underbody and and re-torqued the goddamn oil drain plug. Freaking leaking. I did first oil change a couple months ago.

For years with my WRX I replaced the crush washer maybe every other time and never used a torque wrench. After 6 years or so it began to leak. From then I changed the washer 100% and torqued to spec. It would still occasionally leak. By year 8 it leaked consistently, had to find an alternate gasket that sealed better.

Anyhow with the 86 of course I wasn't going to mess around. New washer, 29 lb-ft. And it leaked bad on first change! I ordered a Fumoto valve to be done with it forever.
