I ended up just cleaning out my OCVs and the codes went away. No rough idle either.

Good to hear! Glad everything worked out. The issue with my cam sprocket was that the bolts started backing out of the cam. Not a problem that had anything to do with cleaning them

Do you, or anyone have a re-assembly guide for these sprockets? Took one apart to clean, and then during reassembly noticed the internal cut-aways were different on 1 side (the other 2 being the same) and didn't know how it needed to be oriented. As well, another note. Using a spare engine to rob some pieces from, noticed differences on my sprocket faceplate (2016) from the other (presumably 2017+?). Does anyone know if the plate covers are the only differences or if the internal chambering is different? Mine (2016) - stock images: Spare Sprocket, presummably 2017+

Cleaning VVT camshaft sprocket assembly after spun bearing

Not a guide but does this work? I knew @rice_classic had some pictures and video in his thread. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...&postcount=247 Edit: oh and yes, the little cam reluctor is the only difference. When swapping 17’+ engine into older car, this is one of the things you have to change.

Cleaning VVT camshaft sprocket assembly after spun bearing

I found a helpful video thanks to Dennis: Good to know we can swap to 17+ with only changing the faceplates in front of the solenoids, that’s currently what’s done and on the car so glad I don’t need to re-swap back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He glosses over the most important part. The actual spool valve in the center comes apart. That's where carbon accumulates and jams the plunger.

Arrow points to the reluctor plate. The spool valve in the circle can be disassembled. Look down inside with a light to see a removable inside circlip.
