I used Meguiars D101 APC diluted around 5:1 for initial cleaning; I had to use extra elbow grease on the tires with a mircofiber.
Sprayed on carpro reload for some protection, and did the tires with Adams graphene tire coating. |

Installed ARP wheel studs that I've had on the shelf for a few years. The stock studs just kept on going...
Oh, and an AP racing sprint kit. Looks good with the 16" SSR Type C wheels.

Decided to clean the coilovers over the weekend. Just starting, I wanted to adjust and the spring collar was frozen to the coilovers body... Unfun but it must be done!!

Started unboxing some new parts for the 86. Just got the rear suspension done but I ran out of sunlight. So round 2 tomorrow.
![]() Here's round 2. 4/24/23. Doing this install at my friends house. So I'm stuck here for another night. ![]() Rear calipers and brake lines in. ![]() and the front suspension sorta done. ![]() Round 3: Tomorrow. Front calipers, bleed brakes, and adjust ride height. Brake pads still look meaty at 40k miles.

WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR FRS TODAY?
Installed a used set of Fortune Auto 500s (6k/7k) + Verus lower control arms
![]() ![]() Install was pretty straightforward; I should have cleaned the underbody, fender wells and coilovers beforehand. Last edited by Cedric; 04-25-2023 at 01:14 AM. |

Looking for Mods to Remove
Bought a 2015 FR-S last december as a project car, and it's been a hell of a project. There's a couple of problems that persist that make me think there's an undiscovered mod somewhere in that car. Here's why I think this:
The car is just too perfect for drifting!!! 1. The previous owner put in coilovers. They're set as low as possible. 2. The Traction Control is ALWAYS OFF. Turns out that the ABS light, the Traction Control light, and the Check Engine light are CONSTATLY ON. I had my mechanic diagnose this as needing a new ABS Actuator. He changed it, and it wasn't fixed. 3. The Cooling Fan is constantly on. This prevents the car from overheating, despite constant revving. My mechanic recommended changing the ECM. We put in a used ECM and had it reprogrammed for this car. THe new ECM didn't fix the problem. 4. The engine has plenty of power until it hits 4,000 RPM. Looks like that would be it's LIMP MODE. No matter how hard I drive it, it never goes over 4,000 RPM, so I guess I can't redline it! After getting the ECM and the Actuator replaced, the car still has the ABS light, the Traction Control Light and the Check Engine light are still on. I then took the FR-S to Cavender Toyota in San Antonio, TX. They kept the car for about 3 weeks and their diagnostic is that it needs a new ECM and a new ABS Actuator. So I'm thinking that the previous owner had some undisclosed work done to it. Any recommendations for next steps? |

Not a great picture.. but
![]() Installed TRD engine and trans mounts. Was fortunate a friend lent me his lift; took me around 2 hours to do everything. Driverside mount was the most PITA but I did it kevinvo method without removing the header. Only immediate intial impressions but I am quite pleased with lessened slop and NVH actually dropped after pulling out the OEM trans mount with whiteline insert. |

If you were paying for an alignment after installing all those nice suspension bits, why not dial everything in properly straight away? Respectfully, I'm not sure I understand the logic of putting it on the rack if you aren't going to be making everything exact and specifically what you want. Those numbers aren't necessarily what I'd want to be driving around on, to be honest. Again, just my opinion.

I mean, I get it. Sometimes changing too much at once makes it hard to discern exactly what difference you are feeling. I probably would have slammed a more agressive alignment straight away but my process is pretty ham fisted and covered in mayo.
