This was likely removed to do plugs as it is in the way on the passenger side. It grounds through the mounting bolts, so if these are not tight they can cause issues. Should be like 8ftlbs. They are 6mm thread I believe, 10mm head.

Interesting, thanks. I saw that rectangular looking computer box with wires going into it when I was removing the noise generator a few weeks ago.

So it would only be an issue if they were under-tightened vs over?

Another thing I briefly considered is belt tensioner(s). Like if one or more of them is loose then the sudden throttle stab would be enough to make them vibrate/wobble around for a second, but I'm not sure that explains why it doesn't do it during a 1k to 3k rev.

If it's not tight enough you will get weird running issues.

Thanks again, I read in a different post that it's the bottom hard to reach bolt that facilitates the grounding. Will take a look soon.

Piling on here to share knowledge. There isn't anything special about the fastener itself. Snug is fine. Just looking for continuous electrical contact. No need to crank on it.

I thought you were supposed to fix it until it is more broken, then properly fix it

Alternatively, the logical solution to this could just be to slap a Jackson Racing supercharger on.

today he's calling me for a progress report, and at the end of the day, he's telling me who's going to be back on the job, like i'm now managing it...

3 months ago in my yearly review, i specifically mentioned this problem, that there's a lack of consistency to jobsite hierarchy. i really don't care who manages it, but when i was told i wasn't to manage it, and now suddenly am, things are going to be skipped/missed/unknown when i wasn't involved in the process...

yep, definitely time to move on...

My buddy thought so weird, cuz I’m right-handed & still open w left hand. Also use middle finger, cuz when I was young tried to open the can I crack the pointing finger nail badly. Since then using middle finger. I always hold my drink on my left hand, so it was easy for me open w left hand.

Either hand, sometimes one handed sometimes opposite. Index finger, irregardless of which hand is used for what.

Finished 2 days of my wife’s grandmother’s funeral. Not gonna lie, it was hard… not cuz of family member passing away, but kneeling for 2 hrs a day (total of 4hrs). I told my close friend (who used to be a monk) that when I die, he’ll gotta do the prayer. Instead of 2 hrs, make it 15 mins lol

Now joke aside, I’m glad my daughter was able to see her great grandmother until she’s 2yo. We’re hoping to see my grandparents this summer, so at least she have a small memory & photos.

I think I prefer Irish funerals. A combination of seemingly random sitting, standing, kneeling, crying, and laughing that lasts about an hour, followed in short order by a drinking party that last at least twice as long. I say this from experience.

Updated the other thread, but I checked earlier and all three bolts were already fully snug. So, we're good there.

That is an odd one. I'd check that the DI driver is tight and check ground straps. I wouldn't think plugs/coils. You would be getting a P030X if it was misfiring due to ignition side or fueling cutting.

Thanks as well for having me check this today and for weighing in with your thoughts. I agree, it doesn't inherently seem spark plug or coilpack related.

Unless I'm datalogging when I do it, I'm just going to take it easy and drive normal and not try to replicate it on purpose.
