I managed to run new EMT front of the house to back... Just a handful of holes to mount it to the concrete. Still a major pain, but less than it'd have been for Romex. 3 12ga pairs. I have so much drywall work now. I'm actually curious how a load center swap happens though... Probably horrible work and even more expensive. Romex would win there for sure.
it's sort of like a heart transplant. if it's in a drywalled wall, need to open at least 1'-4' on the top/bottom of the stud bay, and then everything just gets labeled and wriggled out.

really sort of angry. home depot published a 1305-page exclusion list for the 11% rebate match program. basically everything that menards doesn't sell, which was everything i went there for to use the program. i was close to $500 saved on the program last year. someone else is getting more of my money this year, and it's not going to be home depot.

and lowes started mucking with their discount programs as well...

Basement wall is floated away from the concrete below grade, so once I realized I could fit 10' lengths through a removed switch hole (temp removal) to the space which originally was a "fireplace" and is now screen wall... Just slid them along the concrete behind the insulation. Had a couple challenges but solved with the same holes I used to secure things to the wall. Learned after that I can't even change a wall switch myself in Chicago... This was probably also something they'd have wanted me to pay an arm and a leg for... Haven't found an electrician I trust yet.

i believe if one were to ask their insurance company, they don't want anyone non-licensed doing any alterations to the house

Can't blame them on average for sure.
On the other hand, licensed work left me with a sheared safety screw in a ceiling fan install (found that chasing a rattle) so they just added it to the stack on the ground screw, but only about two threads able to screw in so likely worthless...and a length of wire with no insulation (scraped off) about 8" into the conduit and a breaker that fits but isn't officially certified for my panel... And that's just what I know about.

I fixed a dripping faucet in my bathroom today. Yep, it was keeping me awake while I was trying to nap.

Oh, lemmie alone - I don't want to over do.

Installed 10 new can lights in the tv room. Got my mini split fixed. Ready to paint.

Edit: have I gotten anything done to forward my garage and car projects? No. Happy wife, right?

Why not just have a bon fire and sit around roasting hot dogs and make believe it's spring?

That ceiling is ridiculous. You would need 10 can lights just to not have a shadow somewhere.
