What Oil to Use?

im planning on throwing a turbo kit in this thing, what oil do you guys recommend? I was thinking 5w-40 since its gonna be summer soon, or something like 5w30 or even 0w30? maybe 0w40? not completely sure

With a turbo you are best using 75W90.

You need a good lemon or two to get it to taste just right, if the smell gets to you maybe a clove of garlic or onions would help deflect the smell. That grade generally does not go down well as it’s quite thick.

My dad’s name was Andee to his close shop friends, so it make me queasy to not bring the respect he earned helping me out when I was young and stupid. Respect to someone that shares the name, who just a few short days ago needed consultation on POP tunes (not the music kind) and finally found out how to blow flames despite possible long term reliability issues in the pursuit of fun. Once tired of these teenage trends then wants to go turbo with Ecutek… You seem to change your tuning strategy faster than I change my socks.

Now about the oil thing, are you asking about Turbo oil or Engine oil?
Im old,quite grumpy and get confused quite easily…

For summer I would go with your first or second choice if your Turbo is not installed yet. But im not generally picky with oil as Im more of a change it often than what is the very best oil this week.

Car builders tend to recommend very light oil because the tiny little benefit they get looks good for the government on their CAFE standards. Someone posted an interesting thread here recently showing differing oil pressures at temperature per thousand RPM between 0W-20 and 5W-30. I thought it was significant. I run 5W-30 or 0W-30 in mine, depending on what I can get at the time. It gets hot in Florida.

yea, it's not about 'looks'.

that's how razor thin they are from not meeting the standard, that extra force in the motor from a different oil viscosity is enough to pass/fail a motor to cafe standards...
