Well, of course it was your fault. She knew that you should have kept the lock tumblers well oiled. Maybe you are suffering from what ol @Ultramaroon is suffering from, the old age related "I thought I just did that"? BTW, have you checked your furnace air filter lately?

The thing is that the tumblers were well oiled! I do it every fall when it get's cold. One actually just broke off and dropped into the keyway. According to the locksmith our deadbolt was well over double the expected age for the make and model. In fact he flat out told me it was impossible and I must be mistaken when I told him how old it was.
I don't need to check my filters. My furnace will send me a text that the filters need attention as soon as it sees a 20% differential drop in flow.

Apparently, according the Sunny, a Wieser consumer grade one is about 8 years.
