Black BRZ - new car prep & opti coat - long island
Finally getting a minute to post a quick rundown on this BRZ that I got to last weekend. Owner wanted an interior & exterior detail along with a 1 step polish & opti coat.
Its worth mentioning that this was about 45 mins from home, and completely off the grid. No water or power was available at the location. So my 45 gal tank and honda gen were gonna be very handy. Upon arrival at 9am, it rained. A lot. Couldn't get started until 10am. Jumped into the interior first. Vac, glass, 303 fabric guard on floormats / carpet, 303 aero protectant on all the dash, door panels, weather seals etc Right after I finished the interior, it rained again. Not a big deal cuz it was time for the wash anyway. Put on my fishing rain gear and toughed it out. By the time I was done with the wash it had stopped raining. Then decon, clay, dried, and taped up for polishing After a few test spots I settled on a polish & pad combo that would get me to where I wanted to be with 1 step. Here and there I ran across something deeper that required a spot compounding, followed by my 1 step combo. Then I got to the roof. I don't know what went on here. transport? dealer work? This is the roof, passenger side, where it meets the rear windshield Compounded this spot and it cleaned up nicely. Finished up polishing and then the rains came again. Big time. No way I could finish so I headed for the barn to return tomorrow. Only problem was I had a job booked for sunday. I spoke to that client, who was cool with being taken care of later on sunday, weather permitting. Saturday night was doom and gloom as the forecast for sunday was for spotty showers throughout the day. The client had no access to a covered area to finish things off. Needless to say I didn't sleep well as I was stressing over the situation. I got 4 hours of sleep, and work up at 430am for a weather check. Forecast had improved a bit, and I had a weather window. Right at sunrise I had a few hours of no chance of rain. So I got my act together, grabbed an iced coffee and headed 45 mins back to the scene where the vehicle was left. and here I am sunday morning. Started with a very gentle rinseless wash, which picked up basically nothing. Dried the car real well, some IPA wipedowns, and it was time to do the deed Opti-coat to all the paint, exterior trim, headights / tailights, and wheels couple post game photos What a workout! Owner was very happy, which makes it all seem worth it. Day was far from over though. Drove 45 mins for a 'mini' detail on a honda crossover. THEN I was pooped. Slept good that night for sure. |

That's one clean ass car! I have the same one but it's not that clean... kinda dusty right now lol.
Too bad you have that stupid front license plate holder. You don't need front plates where I live

NY is tough with the license plate laws. When I was a youngster I drove my gsr with no front plate and would get pulled over on a consistent basis for that reason. |

Thanks guys!
I've heard that it 'should' be ok but I've also heard the contrary. Alcantara is a sensitive fabric so with a brand new vehicle, if its questionable, I play it safe and do not apply anything. I feel more comfortable with that then some ruined seats |

Bryan is amazing
.. Black BRZ is mine, I didn't want to drill those front plate holes but NY is strict. I have enough tickets on my name already. |

Bryan just did my DGM Limited yesterday, it came out perfect. I have pics in the general forum that I'll link once I'm at a PC.
Bottom line is I am completely satisfied and would highly recommend this to everyone. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |
