I used something similar. Usually I just use my thread file to check the pitch.

Today I learned that Im in the wrong line of work.
My supervisor is a tech geek, and he was trying to show me the new monitors he wants to order for us from this company called Insight. Apparently they supply our company with all the tech. Samsung UWQHD 3440x1440 32-inch with 75Hz. Costs the company, $400. To which I replied how an LG Ultragear 32-inch QHD, 165Hz with the same 1440 resolution is about $199 and we should look into those. He replies with “Those are listed for $1600”. Insane, absolutely insane. I mean, is not my money or problem, but still. That is straight robbery.

They don’t have anything close to that. Most of their “High” resolution are LEDs and go up to 1440.
I have the ultra gear one for most 1440 gaming and my 3840x2160 32 inch, 165HZ for GT7 or whenever I feel like gaming in that resolution on my PC. Between both, it cost me about $580. Straight robbery from that company.

TIL that sometimes it's best to leave the old vinyl in its sleeve.
I could never go back. Would be a living hell.

I have an old TT and the same dilemma... I dunno. Hard for me to justify more than recapping and hope that's the issue. But it's just a good Technics, nothing special. Maybe some time with vinyl will change my mind, but it's hard to beat my Squeezebox collection. Bucket lists are there to be achieved where they can be, because not everything will be possible.

Then spend hours listening for the difference. I have a grado over a an old belt drive with a wobbly spindle. I understand good stuff, but I pick my battles.
