The biggest difference that comes to mind between the new Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol is that Dead Space is polished. I can't describe what I mean very well but DS is well designed and plays well where as TCP was not and did not. (I didn't finish TCP, it irritated me too much.)
I have all/most video options cranked up (it rarely dips below the 100 fps threshold I have set) and the game looks incredible but even having a brief play on min video settings the game is still fun.
I haven't enjoyed a game this much in a while.

Agreed! I've gotten through the first level and partly through the second. The details are insane, especially the dismemberment!! Like holy balls. I will say the little changes they made to the dialog and backstory are interesting. Nothing I really dislike but it is different. Also I really like how there are no loading screens.

I've mentioned this before, and this is not a rant, but this game reaffirms my thoughts on ray tracing. This remake doesn't use ray tracing but the graphics are unreal even though it uses the Frostbite Engine (witty huh?).
I've been playing Control and yes, the game does look a little prettier playing with ray tracing but it doesn't alter the game.
Maybe it's like new smartphone models; developers are struggling to find new features to add because the feature set has become saturated.

I have to admit the whole ray tracing thing isn't all that ground breaking. It had a little but it doesn't feel night and day to me.

Not really PC, but I've been playing a lot Pokemon Violet. Some lag and bug issues but is nothing that diminishes the experience. My last game was Omega Ruby so it blew my mind to see so many changes. Only about 400 Pokemon tho, and some are really tough to find. The whole Academy thing is pretty neat because it caters to new players or it brushes up your knowledge.



If you get into it, try to get yourself a Tinkaton, it will absolutely destroy almost every opponent you put in front of it.

Finished the Dead Space remake and I can definitely give it a seal of approval. The changes they made really helped out and have more depth to certain characters. Game play was polished and the new game plus is a huge incentive. I also love the expansion for suit and weapon upgrades. The only real downside to the game is the voice acting. While good, i still believe the original did a better job at portraying certain emotions. Namely the voice actors for Kyne and Nicole. The guy who did Mercer was pretty good actually. Still I highly recommend the game!

That used to annoy me when I was a Far Cry (the first one) machine. I don't know how many thousands of hours I spent in multiplayer but I was f*cking good. I would get called out for cheating because I knew the game so well I could do things that were alien to most players. A typical chat would go "You shot me behind a rock" to which a replied yeah but your leg was showing.

Every now and then I will fire up the game and play a bot match. I still remember the strategies but I now suck.

I've finished Dead Space.

I enjoyed the game but there were a couple of things I noticed that irked me just a little.
I rarely knew where I was or where I had to go, I was constantly using the where to go button.
The interior was poorly designed for a huge space vessel.
Why did a room go dark under quarantine conditions?
Having to use 2 sets of direction keys was messy. One for movement, one for in game menu navigation.
Couldn't unbind number pad keys from movement.
Boss fights are so dated but given the game understandable.
The graphics/ interior design is amazing. I didn't see one plain/boring surface.
My rating is great game but wait for sale; I don't think there is much replay value. I think I'll wait a while before starting the Game Plus mode.

Next on the radar is Atomic Heart.

Doing New Game Plus, I stand by my voice acting zonk, but also the overall sound design. Watching the original, the voice acting was so superb. The actors and actresses added vocal ques that let you know various emotions such as fear, mistrust, frustration, ect. The new ones do it, but far more monotoned. The sound design too! They made simple things like elevators moving and doors closing sound spooky. And the weapons sounded so much more raw and powerful.

Otherwise, still a solid game I highly recommend. But yeah, if you aren't hardcore into DS, just wait till it's on sale.
