My 2013 FRS's OEM battery has lasted over 9 years. Mild climate, garaged, 30,000 miles, driven a couple times a week (short trips).

User same obviously created by a random name generator. when you have two names jammed together it is usually the first indicator.

Usually have some weird car type and location. Not that there are no BMW drivers in Amsterdam but it just looks like they threw whatever in the spaces just to answer the questions.

A post that is only vaguely related to the thread, says "Hello", "Me too" or something else short and meaningless. In this case the post is complete gibberish to the thread topic. We varied enough that the algorithm could not figure out the main theme.

As far as I remember, of the hundreds of bot posts I have reported or called out, I have received a reply one time by somebody saying they were not a bot and then a week later they edited a spam link into all their posts!

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

But, why do they (it) do spam?

Mostly to get clicks on sites. Sort of like the old sandwich board guys on the side of the road. If you attract enough attention eventually you may make a sale.

Or the more malicious reason of getting you to click on a link that will cause a virus, ransomware, hacking, etc.

Wink Dead Battery or Batteries?

I was amused to see this post. Frisky, our very low mileage first year Scion, hasn't had its battery changed, and since it often sits for as long as two weeks without firing up, for about half its life I have expected to find it unresponsive one morning. Finally, last week, when I clicked to open the door, nothing happened. I used the key to gain access to the hood latch, but everything lit up and Frisky cranked as usual. I was only a little surprised to see that both our key fobs had dead batteries.

FWIW: It's fairly easy to change the 2016 coin cells, and no reprogramming is required.

My fob battery died before the car battery too! Fob died somewhere in year 7 I think. Car battery lasted about 8 years. It did start giving me a bit of trouble on cold days the year before though.

I was reading the oe panasonic is good for a decade if taken care of, mine was about 6-7 years old when I swapped it but apparently techs will take 'em top off the water put it on a tender with a desulfate cycle and voila, another 2-5 years. Most don't bother to do the tender/desulfate cycle after checking the water levels and jumping it.

2 more weeks and I join the 10 year club. I should wash it...

I was super bummed when my original finally gave up the ghost. It was only one cell that quit taking charge. Didn't respond to de-sulfation. They really are excellent batteries. I'd buy another if I could find it.

Washing is overrated. I don't even garage mine.

Still loving my 1.0.

I have only replaced oil and a flat. Has about 40,000 miles at this time.

Nice looking 308, but boy do the tires look worn ! Are they metrics?

Didn't the values of these skyrocket in the last few years?
