I dont think im big on online multiplayer anymore.
I jump onto CS:Go, play a casual best of 15 game and then leave. I used to play CoD Black Ops and BO2 back in the day, Joined a private server, got to know a few players, things were good. I think that is the only way to play these online games nnot with randoms. We tried Ghosts but that was such a bleh title compared to BO series...put me off the rest of CoD (plus they all play pretty much the same anyway lol) I'd would play the newer ones, but just if the campaigns are good (their prices never drop though.....) I cant be bothered with voice chat listening to morons babble on about pointless crap or shouting incessantly for no reason. Voice chat is forever muted for me lol. Also im not anywhere near good enough nor do i really want to play competitively. Im all casual so I really dont have to care about how good or bad i am. |

That's always been me with few exceptions. I have never enjoyed playing with random players, just don't see the appeal. I do play online all the time with family, it's the primary way my sons and I "spend time" together when we are all in our own homes.
I also have the "not good enough" part as well since I have a real life. The bottom line is I tend to do the things in a game you would do IRL. Duck/cover, slow approach, etc. and that doesn't translate well into online gaming. Well unless you put me in a tank. Then all bets are off. My kids only let me play one map level per session with them that has Scorpions.

I used to be pretty competitive when gaming. After I graduated college and started working, I kind of stopped caring for competitive fps or rts. Too stressful and hectic when real life is stressful and hectic enough I guess.

I bought Doom Eternal for $13.73 AUD. It's fun and I'm happy to have paid that amount. It doesn't offer any thing new (duh!) and I think I would have felt ripped off if I had paid full price.

I got quite the gaming surprise for Christmas from MomHawk. She bought me a LG 49WQ59C and a steam gift card!
The biggest bonus when I replaced my 3x27" HD monitors it reduced so many cables, and a speaker bar.

Truly, that is an awesome present. Obviously the thing to do now is mount another one on top.

I get about 170° field of view for sim racing (3 27" 1440p). Really cool gift either way.

I honestly don't know if the hardware is more taxed running 3x1440p (assuming the game/program supports triple monitor output) or a single super ultrawide resolution. |
