Knocking/rattling noise when engine is warmed up???
Hi, I bought a '13 BRZ yesterday and when the engine gets warm it starts tickling, and knocking. After research, I think it could be the vacuum pump, fuel pump, valve proble or rod knocking? Some say it's normal. Does anyone have had this issue or could know what's up with it? I've posted videos on Reddit so I'll just link them below. Thanks

Bonjour confrere du quebec!
The loud click clacking is normal, loud injection pump, loud direct injectors, lots of chains scootin' aboot in that big resonant timing cover, it clatters like an old kubota, an early VW EA888., or maybe even a shitpile of a BMW N20 However, there is an underlying repetitive "tsak tsak tsak tsak" which isn't part of the normal clackity clack clack of the injection system. Mine is a manual so I can't relate, but the same noise can be heard here Which apparently was the vacuum pump. |

Yeah, vacuum pump when it has already pulled all the air it can from the brake booster. Pump the brakes rapidly and I bet the sound changes if it doesn't disappear completely.
