I really wanted Idris Elba to be the next Bond. I felt it would have been perfect.

He left Witcher to play Superman then the show runners for DCA changed, they've decided to go with a non-origin but younger Superman story so he's now out.

Seems there was more to him leaving Witcher than just to play Superman. I think the series was drifting too far off the source material for him.

I thought it was cuz he's black.

And it wasn't a racist knock on him being black, its that they wanted to keep the James Bond character as a charismatic womanizing white guy...cuz that's who he's always been. Just like they wont cast Bond as a female. Any female bond would be a "female bond" but won't actually be a "Jane Bond" if you will.

But i also agree he would make a helluva bond, he's awesome (btw he plays a supporting role in the Thor movies as the gatekeeper Heimdall, hes also the badguy in the fast and furious spinoff movie, Hobbes and Shaw)

Didn’t they just try to elude to the new bond being a female minority? Not trying to get SJW or whatever. But I thought they did that in the newest movie.

Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core looks gorgeous. It is not a remake, but a proper remaster. Makes you think on how advanced the PSP was when it came out and that if it was to come out during this time, it would probably be a hit if Sony properly supported more games for it.

Never saw the latest one but i believe that was the case. I think the way its justified is that she's not the next BOND, but she could be the next 007, since the 007 designation itself is apparently transferrable.

It makes sense, but i don't know if it makes sense or will be accepted as such in the overall bond lore.

As far as i know Bond himself has always been 007, and if there were any other agents they would have had a different 00 number. (like Alec Trevelyan in Goldeneye was 006).

-Recast Bond as the new 007
-This lady is the new 007, but she isnt bond
-This lady is a new 00 agent, set in the bond world that replaces bond.

I always just assumed James Bond was the codename given to an agent whos prior identity no longer exists. How else to explain how he gets old, then young, and changes faces over the decades. Therefore Jane Bond would have made sense in a way. Still wishing we could have had Elba as Bond though.

I always assumed that, and that the 00x designation was because there were a limited number of agents that could have the "license to kill" issued to them (you know like a max of 999).

That is correct. They actually explain it a little during the Casino Royale movie, which happens to be the first novel. The agent James Bond gets his 007 designation because he successfully eliminated his targets, hence, he gets a license to kill.



I think everyone pretty much agrees that Bond is, and will always be a male, and can be regardless of race/color. 007 on the other hand can be given to anyone who portrays an MI6 agent.

tried MW2 on the free steam trial for a few days, definitely a big "meh"

regular multiplayer was just ok but warzone was really not fun at all. uninstalled.

definitely felt clunky compared to MW1 (2019) which i thought was a lot better
