I work with a kid like that. He has an absolutely hammered IS300 and thinks they are the greatest cars in the world. I asked him how many vehicles he has ever owned. 2, both IS300's

The most surreal part of implementing the new calendar came in October 1582, when 10 days were dropped from the calendar to bring the vernal equinox from March 11 back to March 21. The church had chosen October to avoid skipping any major Christian festivals.

TIL: Not only were the SRB's from the SLS from the shuttle, but so were the 4 MRB's on the center stage.
Even more surprised it didn't launch in 2016ish.

Cheaper than demonstrating an utter lack of management skills, general understanding of how people work, and showing yourself to be the world's richest bully.
Also, not a waste of money, generally; that's not to say the way certain funding programs go aren't a poor financial decision (cost plus? wtf. Oh right, gotta send money to the states for those senators...)

There are a lot of solutions that NASA has developed with private companies that are big industries today. Cordless power tools is a huge one. It's budget is less then .5% of the governments budget.

Here’s the archive of the publication detailing the thousands of everyday technologies derived from NASA research.

One of my favorites is grooved concrete developed for the shuttle program, now used to make roadways safer. Seems obvious in hindsight, but without the shuttle program it’s unlikely any budget would have been spent on studying it.
