Anyone running the OEM Mudflaps? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I'm considering adding these to my BRZ for winter duty. I was hoping this could be a seasonal add on, but looking at the instructions there is some drilling involved and not sure if they would be ok to install and remove. Who has them and do you think they help keeping the car more protected?

I went with GR86 mudguards instead. Those offer little protection comparatively but still better than nothing. I don't think I could have lived with the ones made by Subaru. You do need to drill holes, about 1 on each side for front and 4 for rear. I just did 2 for rear thought. You can use rivets for drilled holes and previous holes already have rivet you can keep.

Thats a good alternative. I didn't know about the toyota ones, they look more subtle. The BRZ one are Rally Armor esk which is smart for them, but its one of the reasons I was thinking of running those seasonally, the Toyota one I think I could live with year round.

+1 on the toyota splash guards. I've been happy with them. From what I've seen, I would not buy the subaru ones as it seems they tend to deform. If you want something more substantial and seasonal then maybe consider the rally armor urethane flaps. I've had those on other cars and they worked well.

Been running them for a year as well. I had to shorten the front ones since I'm sitting a bit lower, but they have worked well to keep rocks and dirt from kicking up too much. Held up just fine. You have to drill, but those holes get plugged with a clip that can be reinstalled if you remove the flaps.
