In a decent game like ACC the basic principles apply. Some effects are understated and some overstated is all.

The point here isn't to set up a real car through trial and error in a sim of that car, the point is for the person to understand the kinds of effects each setting has. If the person has a general understanding of how a stiffer sway bar might affect handling, then they will be better able to identify whether they desire that effect on a real car. Additionally, there's no accounting for comfort, feel, or even rough roads in a sim so there's still a lot to learn in the real world. It's just there's a bit less to learn than before messing around in a sim.

I use Timberland waterproof hiking boots. I forget which model, but they have worked great for yard/house work in all seasons.

I've been wearing low top Keens lately and they are okay, a bit too stiff and have never really broke in. Before that I had a pair of Carhartt 6" work boots and they were very comfortable and I liked them a lot. The newer models have a lot of breathable mesh in them and they are not as water resistant and don't tolerate sparks from the grinder or welding.

Ivet been using Duluth trading's composite toe boots. Mostly like them. They stay cooler than most at least.

Somewhat light-ish, meets astm requirements for toe protection. But they're still waterproof, meaning you don't want them in the same room after I wore them all day in the summer

Either I can find mesh shoes that aren't much different from sandals, or they're full on waterproof trek-the-amazon-for-a-year boots...

I had a good first experience at my nearest Toyota dealer. I need a couple clips noticed are missing. On line they are 92 cents each, and 1.08. The parts guy say 3.95 and 2.75 each. I tell him the internet price, and he matches it. Cool.

Oh yea, and my M12 impact wrench stopped working. Sucks. Lasted 3 small jobs. Taking back to HD tomorrow.

Fifteen years ago, these were the shizzle. I haven't shopped for safety boots in a long time. I'd still consider them first if I was looking today.

Boots that fit.
Everything folks have mentioned so far can be good (well, I'm not a fan of Timberland, ever) but NONE fit me worth shit.
If you're worried about fire or melting shit, no synthetics (probably full leather). lawn chemicals destroy footwear so if you're into all that, just get cheap stuff that works for anything in the lawn.

Don't wear the same ones every day. Salt water is also really hard on materials, especially leather. I'm making an assumption on failure mode here but years ago I was a fit specialist and occasionally got to customize work bootsand heard this a lot. Also if you wear cotton socks, consider synthetics or wool... Cotton is a sponge and doesn't breathe once wet. Just makes everything worse.
